"Josh made a custom tv/media console to fit in a specific place in my home. It needed to fit all my accessories. I asked him to make it â  paint readyâ  so I could paint it myself. He built the perfect console! Thank you! He also extended 2 of my shelves in my pantry so they were deeper. Again, he did a great job!"

"Lots of discussion on how to prepare a screen enclosed aggrigate patio for porcelin tile and some back and forth on the price but in the end, the installer, John prevailed and prepared the aggrigate surface properly and did a fine job of installation. The workmanship was terrific and the problems with Whitehouse Floors and More were lack of experience in this type of prepartion. Overall, great job and very happy with end result"

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

In Tyler, luxury vinyl plank flooring stands out for handling the region’s humidity and temperature changes, while engineered hardwood—especially oak or hickory—offers stability against local soil movement. Porcelain tile is ideal for kitchens and bathrooms, resisting moisture and staying cool in the Texas heat. For modern homes, polished concrete is popular for its durability and energy efficiency in Tyler’s climate.

Helpful?

In Tyler, cupping or crowning in hardwood, widening gaps, or buckling often signal humidity or moisture problems. Cracks in tile or grout, or floors that slope or feel uneven, may indicate foundation movement from the local clay soil. Persistent musty odors or soft spots can point to hidden water damage. If you notice these issues, it’s wise to consult a local flooring professional promptly.

Helpful?

Upgrading flooring in Tyler enhances comfort by reducing allergens and making cleaning easier, which is especially helpful during the region’s pollen-heavy seasons. Tile and concrete floors help keep interiors cooler during hot Texas summers, while engineered hardwood resists warping from humidity. New flooring also improves insulation, reduces noise, and can increase your home’s value and daily enjoyment.

Helpful?

After new flooring installation in Tyler, check for early signs of shifting or gaps due to humidity and clay soil movement. Maintain indoor humidity between 30-50% using your HVAC system or a dehumidifier. Use only the manufacturer’s recommended cleaning products for the first few cleanings. Register flooring warranties and schedule a professional inspection within 30 days to catch any settling or installation issues early.

Helpful?

For Tyler homes, keep a microfiber mop and a pH-neutral floor cleaner to manage local dust and pollen. A dehumidifier helps control the area’s frequent humidity spikes, while a moisture meter can alert you to potential subfloor issues. For tile, have grout sealer and a soft-bristle brush. Heavy-duty doormats are useful for trapping red clay, and an air purifier helps during allergy season.
