Customers say: Quick response

"I'm retired from a multi-billion dollar company that half of which was devoted to building, remodeling, and maintaining retail stores and restaurants. I've worked on many projects, observing the tradesmen install their specialty. Adam and his guys Came at 1:00 PM and left after 7:00 PM. One of the best floors I've ever seen installed by a team who cares about us as customers, but mostly in maintaining their expertise. Although I do not speak for him, I think Mike Holmes would like Adam's work. Wish I could upload a few pics. BTW, it's the only transition from a hallway to a bathroom I've ever seed (residential) w/o a transition to step over. Just seamless flooring. Wow..."

"After searching for months to get a small tile installation I read reviews on Josh. They said he did good work and would take small or large jobs. I contacted him and he responded quickly. I needed 13 tiles replaced after a plumber had to bust up my my kitchen floor for a drainage problem. The tile was discontinued but Josh matched it as well as he could. He stayed late working on it then came back the next morning to finish up. My wife and I are very pleased with the work and with Josh. We highly recommend him."

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, carpet tiles are easy to install—even if you don’t have much DIY experience. In fact, the simple installation process is one of the main reasons that people choose carpet tiles over traditional carpet. Since carpet tiles come in individual squares, they aren’t as heavy or awkward to install as regular carpet. Plus, you don’t need specialized equipment (like knee kickers or carpet stretchers) when installing carpet tiles.

In most cases, carpeting isn’t kind to the wood that it’s attached to. Most carpet installation uses adhesive or nailing strips, both of which will damage wood. Conversely, you can choose to use an adhesive designed to be removed from wood, in which case carpeting can actually protect your hardwood stairs.

On average, installing carpet costs between $3 and $11 per square foot, depending on factors like the carpet material, style, and labor rates in your area. Sometimes, installers will include carpet removal in these costs, so if you don’t have any carpet to remove, you can save time and spend less money on labor.

There are a couple of color options to consider when installing carpet in high-traffic areas (like entrances and stairways). Medium-toned colors and patterned carpets can work well in these parts of your home because dirt and stains can blend in easily. Dark carpets will also conceal marks and spills, but they show lint and other light-colored debris. Consider a medium brown or tan for your high-traffic areas. Either way, it’s best to avoid paler shades, like white and cream, which get dirty easily.

When installing carpeting on your steps, start at the top and work your way to the bottom. That way, you can easily control the carpet and create a better seal. This approach prevents the carpet from bunching up or creating wrinkles as you work. You’ll have better leverage over it as gravity helps guide it down each step.
