"It went very well. Mike was very knowledgeable. He cleared the line and installed a valve that would keep the problem from occurring again. This was after another plumbing firm had given us an estimate for over $800 while Mike fixed the problem and made an improvement for $275. We highly recommend Servant Plumbing."

"Peeples plumbing was so easy to work with they were able to accommodate my schedule and work around a late rescheduling. The tech that came out to install my gas grill was very knowledgeable and instructed me how to swap out the propane orfices for the new gas orfices. He was also very neat and careful not to damage my newly laid sod. I would definitely recommend using Peeples Plumbing and I will call them again for any plumbing jobs I may have in the future."

"I called Crawlspace Doctor and the representative came and inspected our space later that day. I had received a strong recommendation on this co. from a friend. Our National termite control company had told us we needed some remedial work. The Crawlspace rep quoted me a price that day which was about 1/2 of the termite company for the same general work scope. I said to go ahead. Completely satisfied with the service."

"During December Mel did our HVAC maintenance, diagnosed the need for and installed a new condensate pump for our downstairs system and added a UVC germicidal system for our new upstairs HVAC system. We always request Mel for his expertise, knowledge and willingness to explain, and he always does an excellent job. We also had a new upstairs HVAC that was installed by Robbie and John and subsequent duct cleaning and disinfecting by Thomas. They all did an excellent job and were good and patient at explaining, answering questions and cleaning up the work area."

"Bobby was very helpful. He removed our leaking water heater from the attic, put in a new one and hooked it up. He cleaned up any mess and was quick and efficient. We will be calling him again to do some faucet installations and I remembered I should add him to Angie's List. I'm very pleased with his work.

"

This is a rental unit, and we had removed it from the market for 2 weeks to complete this and other remodeling projects.  This master bath project involved removal of a small triangular shower stall, removal of an old 5 sided jaccuzzi tub, and painting walls and replacing floor tiles where the old shower was).  The new shower is also five sided and tiled.  The tile folks did a fabulous job and gave us some good ideas for laying of the chosen wall tiles, based upon their experience in this area.  We are thrilled with the results.  The removal of old materials was quick and as clean as could be.  The contractors had covered floors and other areas to prevent dust contamination.  In addition, they closed the bathroom door while working on dusty projects.  All floors exiting the condo were cleaned every day at the end of the workday.

The workmen showed up as promised, and although I worried constantly that they would not complete the  job before the new renters arrived, the project was completed by noon on the final day (with the exception of the glass shower doors, which were installed within 10 days).

One item that was not in the original proposal and added to the cost was replacement of the water heater.  However, when they went to turn the water off to begin the bathroom renovation, we discovered that the water heater was severely rusted and ready to leak.  I asked if they could fix it, and they did (with a new one), within a few hours.

Here are the reasons I would hire this company again:  1)  The owner, Mike, is so easy to work with. He answers questions and phone calls immediately and has the business experience to solve any problems that may arise; 2) the crew are the hardest working and friendliest folks that I have ever worked with.  Neighbors were even asking for their numbers to consider future remodeling projects in the building.  And they made an incredible team.  At times, there were 5 guys working in that bathroom at the same time.  These guys worked like a well-oiled team and their senses of humor never failed to make us smile.

The only glitch we had was that the painters chipped a large mirror when removing it or reinstalling it.  When we noted it, Mike and his crew immediately came up with a solution to frame the mirror to hide the chip.  It was a perfect and prompt solution.

If you want a high-quality remodel, done with patience and attention to detail, this is a solid choice.  I will hire them again in a heartbeat.

Sump Pump Installation questions, answered by experts

There are several indicators that your washing machine’s drain pump is bad, including incomplete cycles, water not draining, lack of spinning, a foul odor when the machine is running, and a loud grinding or buzzing noise when the pump is trying to move water down the drain.

To maintain your sump pump, start by checking it every three to four months to ensure it’s in working order. Clear any debris from the pit because blockages can prevent the pump from operating efficiently. You should also test the pump by pouring a bucket of water into the pit. If it turns on automatically and drains the water, it’s functioning correctly. Inspect the discharge line for clogs, and ensure it directs water away from your home. Once a year, clean the pump itself, and consider having it professionally serviced for optimal performance.

The difference between an ejector pump and a sump pump lies in their purpose and design—an ejector pump functions to remove liquid gray water and soft solid sewage waste from your home. If you have a laundry room or bathroom in your basement, an ejector pump for your sewage tank prevents sewage from backing up in your washing machine or bathroom’s drains.

A sump pump is designed to remove excess groundwater that may enter your home, either due to flooding or periods of heavy rain.

One common reason a sump pump stops working is improper sizing. Different locations need different sizes and power ratings of sump pumps depending on the typical amount of water the pump needs to manage. If your sump pump is too small for the quantity of water, it can overwork and either burn out or reduce the life of the unit. If the pump is too big, it can overwork and burn out early.

Yes, you can add a battery to your existing sump pump. There are batteries available that can be plugged into your existing system; however, most battery backups come as a complete system and act as a replacement for your existing sump pump.
