"I was very impressed with Sentri Homes - their customer service was excellent. They sent a subcontractor to install some vinyl laminate in my bathroom and he ended up getting glue all over the carpet in our bedroom. The sub ended up ghosting both me and Sentri, leaving me stuck with a ruined carpet. Sentri stuck with me for over a month to get the carpet replaced with the identical original and to get the vinyl job 100% completed. The carpet was a Home Depot exclusive and Sentri handled everything with them. I will be using Sentri for a much bigger renovation I have coming up soon, because I know that they will make sure everything gets done right no matter what problems come up. The vinyl looks great too."

"Remember that favorite “mom and pop” business from your childhood or that your parents talked about? Well, if you are looking for flooring, Kathy and Rob Bullock at Flooring’s International are the guys for you. I am pretty picky and found them to be first rate from the initial contact all the way through the installation of my engineered maple hardwood floors. The Bullocks are punctual, well-spoken, and professional with a hardworking and clean cut crew. I found the price to be very fair and excellent attention to detail given. Nice to see businesses like this still exist."

"We went into the show room and grabbed four different samples. They had 2x2 foot squares instead of the small squared which are usually given . Once he found what we wanted we called and they had their measuring guy come out and measure everything. Wood came in two weeks earlier than the installers. It was a very smooth process. I would recommend them."

"My guy Logan is the jack of all trades. I’m doing a 800sq ft. Apartment above my house. I hired him to do drywall and finishing. He did an amazing job. Everything is nice and flush. He came back and did touch ups no questions asked. Not only did he do an outstanding job. He went above and beyond and helped me With other stuff I didn’t even hire him to do. Like sub flooring. Building my attic. I blew a switch upstairs was really bummed about it and he even fixed that ! He’s really good at what he does. Highly recommended!"

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

Each flooring material has its own maintenance requirements and cleaning techniques. For example, hardwood floors may require occasional refinishing and specialized cleaning products, while vinyl and laminate are easy to clean with regular sweeping and mopping. Concrete and natural stone, on the other hand, may need periodic sealing to maintain their appearance and durability. Follow manufacturer recommendations and utilize appropriate cleaning methods to preserve the integrity of your chosen flooring material.

The average cost to install an epoxy garage floor is $2,514, with typical projects ranging from $750 to over $5,716. On a per-square-foot basis, you can expect to pay between $3 and $12. Several factors influence the total cost, including the total square footage, required surface preparations, the type and thickness of the epoxy, design complexity, decorative options, and labor costs. For example, an epoxy floor for a one-car garage may cost between $720 and $2,900, while a two-car garage can range from $1,100 to $4,300. Adding decorative elements like flakes can cost about $10 per 250-pound bag, and choosing a metallic epoxy can increase the price to between $5 and $12 per square foot. With proper care and maintenance, a well-installed epoxy floor can last for 10 to 20 years.

You can mop bamboo floors, but exercise caution to protect the material from excess moisture, which can seep into the bamboo, causing it to warp and well. Moisten a microfiber mop and wring it out until it’s just damp, or use a pH-neutral cleaner, as this will prevent damage to the bamboo fibers. Avoid harsh chemicals, like traditional floor cleaners. After cleaning, wipe the floor dry.

Vomit contains organic fluids along with whatever else comes out with it. When left without cleaning, vomit, and its odor can reach deep into carpet fibers and become very difficult to remove without a deep cleaning. In some cases, the combination can cause permanent carpet staining.

The best flooring materials for a mudroom are porcelain and ceramic tiles. Both are easy to clean and maintain, and they're also water-resistant and highly durable. If you're not a fan of those types, you can also choose another nonporous flooring for your mudroom, such as stone or sealed concrete. Stay away from linoleum, cork, hardwood, and engineered wood, as water and moisture in your mudroom will damage these quickly.
