"I can't speak highly enough about my experience with Joel and his team. I called on a Friday inquiring about mold remediation (cleaning of my whole condo downtown) and physical removal of funghi/mold that had grown due to water leakage and by the following week all was resolved. Not only was the total cost a fraction of the amount compared to another quote that I had received, but Joel rearranged his schedule to get me scheduled in a few days. In less than a week, all my issues were resolved and my follow-up air quality test results came back great! They were prompt and extremely thorough in their cleaning. Joel and team treated my home as if it was their own and I could not recommend them enough!"

"Ted from Biotek noted that since I had already done some home project work, the fix needed was actually something I could do myself. He gave great feedback on the root problem for moisture continuing to build up was the lack of a hose feeding to a vent from the bathroom fan, and that a simple dryer hose running to an existing vent exit in the attic would help on that front. He then gave steps on using a vinegar solution, elbow grease, and letting the area dry for several days (avoid that shower) after killing the existing mold, before applying a layer of mold sealing primer (like Killz). He saved me at least $2500 compared to some quotes I'd received to take care of the problem."

"Greg and his employees did an amazing job!! From start to finish it took three days and if you had saw our crawlspace I didn't think anything could be done. Our crawlspace went froma dark, dank, moldy, snake infested, armadillo incubator to a space that is as clean and seems as hygienic as a hospital operating room. I would not go anywhere near our crawlspace before and now have no issues crawling anywhere I want or need to go under the house. they even went beyond by adding some lighting and fixing our airhandler so it didn't drain under the house anymore. I highly recommend Greg and his team at Crawlspace Doctor to turn your space into what it was meant to be."

"Very professional and thorough! Would definitely hire them again. Attentive to detail and accommodating to my requests (dryer vent, bathroom exhaust questions, etc.). Showed me pictures of before and after to help me understand the service performed. They cleaned up after themselves as if they hadn't even been here. Price was very competitive! Super job and very friendly. Professional job done, for sure."

"It went very well. 20 mil vapor barrier was installed and taped together. The vapor Barrie was taken up the foundation walls and around each pier. All was taped with prescribed tape for encapsulation. I got estimates from three companies and based on Mr Harrelson’s proposal and certification, chose Lowcountry Mold Remediation. He has the equipment and knowledge to do this type of work correctly."

"Effy (our technician) and his team were amazing! Professional with a calm demeanor, he explained in detail the work they needed to do for complete mold remediation. He took photos and I could not believe the difference before and after. I had other companys bid the project for THOUSANDS of dollars more. Eco Friendly Services quickly, and COMPLETELY, and professionally solved our problem. I am still amazed."

"Excellent JOB! Shawn showed up on time for an estimate. Within a week he was back and taking care of the problem. Shawn repaired and replaced the drywall in the ceiling due to plumbing issue. He also resprayed the textured ceiling to match the existing texture. Since i don't live at the house 100% of the time, i was comfortable with leaving a key for Shawn to come and go as required. I would definitely recommend his company, and plan to use him in the future for any drywall repairs i may need."

"It went extremely well and I’m very happy with the work. Jay did a waterline re-pipe of my home and my water pressure has never been better. Extremely happy with the customer service and the communication with each step along the way. I have referred to friends and family."

Mold Testing and Remediation questions, answered by experts

Once again, contact with moisture is the culprit here, though water-resistant varieties of wallpaper are less likely to become wet and develop mold. Using a high-quality exhaust fan or dehumidifier and leaving the doors or windows cracked after bathing will keep this issue at bay.

Mold can be hazardous to your health. Some people are allergic to mold and experience a reaction when exposed to mold spores. The reaction varies from person-to-person, but can include a runny nose, skin irritation, and asthma attack. Mold can also be irritating to people who aren't allergic, causing respiratory, skin, and eye irritation. In some cases, mold exposure can lead to infections.

Vermiculite insulation that comes from a particular mine before 1990 is likely to contain asbestos. This is particularly true in the U.S. However, not all types of vermiculite insulation contain asbestos. Since you can't detect the presence of asbestos without special equipment, it's best to assume that the insulation contains the dangerous mineral and to either leave it alone or hire a professional to handle it.

If you’re worried mold might still be lingering after you’ve cleaned your items, here are signs to watch for:

  • Musty smell

  • Visible spots or stains

  • Allergy symptoms when you’re around the item

  • Damp or sticky feel.

If you notice these signs, it might be time to let go of the item or get professional treatment.

Many caulk alternatives are safe for use in kitchens and food preparation areas, provided you apply them correctly and let them cure for the right amount of time. If you’re unsure about this step, call in a pro to do it for you. Silicone putty and caulk strips are often used around sinks and countertops due to their waterproof and flexible nature. Always choose products labeled as safe for kitchen use and follow the manufacturer's instructions for proper application and curing.
