"Jose Lopez, the owner of Luna Masonry, was very easy to work with. He responded to all questions and provided positive and creative solutions to any inquiries about materials, designs and function of the projects. He and his crew also worked long hours, including evenings and weekends. I would highly recommend this company for any Masonry work you need done!!"

"We hired Patrick's Masonry and Concrete to remove our old driveway and install a new driveway. The entire experience was excellent from start to finish. The crew was professional, showed up on time and communicated clearly throughout the project. The owner was present each day giving us added confidence in the quality of the work. The project took 4 days and also included masonry work on a brick pathway which turned out beautifully. I'm very careful about work done on our house since it's on the National Registry for Historic Homes and they exceeded expectations. The finished driveway looks fantastic-smooth, properly graded and built to last. You can really see the quality in their workmanship. The pricing was fair and clearly explained and the finished work was absolutely worth every dollar. It's not always easy to find contractors that follow through like this. I would definitely hire them again and recommend highly for any concrete or masonry work."

Dillon Rivera and Harlan Gross grew up together in the Pacific Northwest and quickly realized that they made a great team in business. The only issue was finding something that combined both of their passions. As the years passed, Dillon climbed the ladder at a restoration company to become the General Manager, while Harlan took interest in masonry and eventually got into a managerial role in his field. Eventually they both realized that they had the skills and drive necessary to go into business together in restoration and the rest is history.\n\nRestoration combined those two passions: helping people and creating a great product. They had observed all sorts of service practices from various trades including masonry, construction, remodeling and more. The main lesson they learned is: It's not worth it in the short or long run to not provide superb service to the customer.

Masonry questions, answered by experts

Cobblestone fell out of favor with the advent of motor vehicles. Asphalt and concrete are both much smoother surfaces allowing for a smoother ride. Asphalt is also much cheaper, especially for driveways. However, we didn’t stop using cobblestone altogether, and you can still see it as a decorative option in both homes, in parks, and in pedestrianized areas of cities.

Yes, professionals have the skills to restore historical or intricate masonry by respecting traditional techniques and materials. They address damage meticulously, preserving the original design while ensuring stability and longevity.

Modern brick houses are really stick-built homes with a brick facade for aesthetic purposes only, so most have framing. With genuine brick construction, most homeowners install furring strips over the interior of the brick and then install drywall over those strips to cover the brick wall, so they don’t have traditional framing.

Yes, you can enlarge windows in a brick house. Your masonry contractor will need to cut away exterior brick to make space for the larger window, and you may also need to consult a structural engineer to make sure the window is properly supported inside the frame of the house.

Yes, brick should be clean before staining to ensure the best results. Dirt, dust, mold, mildew, and other substances on the brick can prevent the stain from properly adhering to it. Thoroughly cleaning the brick allows the stain to penetrate and bond to the surface more effectively. Cleaning typically involves using a pressure washer or a stiff brush with mild detergent. However, stubborn residue may require a specialized masonry cleaner.
