Showed up at 9:40 for 9:40 appointment. Job took 30 min. 2 workers. Nathan answered all my questions about the job and related fireplace issues. Happy to report that he stated when he didn't know the answer in depth, but suggested what may be the source of effects. The job was done quickly, professionally and cleanly. Quoted a list of optional improvements (chimney cap, brick cleaning/seal) and repairs (cement flue cap replacement) that should be considered, but that they not a limitation to safe usage of the fireplace. I would hire again.

We assume sweeping went well. Long story, but masonry was poorly done. We got independent opinions from a roofer and a building inspector, who said it was "a crappy job" and "the worst I've seen." Owner refused to come see it, but sent worker who didn't want to go on roof; then saw no problem.

Paul came out and met us to see what the project entailed. He then provided us with a very reasonable quote. The office staff worked with us to help pick our choices (they have many fireplaces). After everything was ordered, they set up the installation. The technicians arrived at exactly the time they said they would. Paul accompanied them and they started the job on time. They were very respectful of our home, and they kept us updated with pictures and texts. They were finished on time, and left the place very clean. We highly recommend them and should we have another need for gas piping, chimney maintenance, or similar, they will be the only number we call! Jim and Sandy

Excellent work; Showed up right on time; called ahead so I knew arrival time. Best looking chimney on our street. Well done. I've started using them for all of my fireplace needs. Highly recommend their service and they also sell top of the line fire stoves. Family owned .Very friendly people. Price was reasonable.

Initial repair worked for a while then failed. When I contacted Murphy's and told them about it, they sent out a technician who evaluated the problem on the first visit, then returned with proper parts and did the replacement. Tech was competent, courteous, and worked quick. Highly recommend for honesty.

Murphy's Fireplace / Santiam gutters did work for my mother. Here is her review: I felt there were many issues with the installation of gutters by this company. In my opinion the quality of their work was very poor. I would not recommend them to anyone.

The repairman was very professional. He made sure that drop cloths were used, plus cloths on his shoes. He did a good job cleaning and made sure the logs were placed back in the correct way. I was very happy with the cleaning.

They gave me quote to clean both fireplaces for $240.00 the guy showed up looked in my fireplace with his flashlight and said the my chimney was clean and did not need cleaning and charged me for a service charge of $87. for each fireplace for a total $174. That took him all but 10 minutes for doing absolutely nothing. He was a scammer and lazy he kept talking about how he needed to be home to take care of his step daughter. NEVER RECOMMEND them again. I don’t know if I’ll ever use Angie’s list again.

I really liked the young man who came out. He was courteous, informative and didn't mind my yapping pugs. I have a double sided fireplace so there were two separate glass door screens to clean. I would definitely recommend them. Although they are in Salem, they came out to SW Portland at no additional charge.

Ted and Travis did an amazing job. Not only did they get the job done , but also took the time to answer any questions that I had.

I only needed the cosmetic but had to pay for an inspection also. He almost forgot the cosmetic aspect and Im glad I was there to realize before he was gone. Nice work overall. would use again. Prices are decent.

We assume the chimney was cleaned satisfactorily. Owner/chimney sweep told us chimney was in disrepair and gave us a "today only" price to rebuild it. It was rebuilt, as discussed. At a later time, we learned that it was a "crappy" job - the words of a roofer. He told of some correction that should be made when we're ready to re-roof the house. The mason came to inspect it - without a ladder and took pictures. The owner relied on the pictures & wouldn't come, himself. We contacted a building inspector, who told us the chimney would pass inspection, but its construction was very amateurish. Owner continued to defend the workmanship, without ever inspecting the chimney.
