"Hired Neli for a virtual repair of our Whirlpool washer. Tom was VERY knowledgeable, friendly and professional. We came up with a solid diagnosis of my issue and the replacement parts required. Tom advised me to consider the value of repairing, parts costs and time required, vs. a new purchase and the effort to repair was not going to be simple. We chatted about the pros/cons a lot. As the washer was 6+ years old and there were holiday sales I opted to purchase a new unit. This is the 3rd time I have worked with Neli. All instances have been very productive and positive. "

"Beware of shipping issues with this company. Ordered an ice maker installation kit on 10/10/25. Shipping was due no later than 10/20 according to company and FedEx tracking. FedEx tracking showed the package at their facility for 8 days without moving beginning on 10/15. Called FedEx 3 times. Each time they said they cannot find package and I have to contact shipper. Shipper has to make a claim, they will not mark it as lost. Called Appliance Parts Pros twice. Each time they say FedEx has to mark package lost before they will do anything. They also state they have to wait 14 days from them before doing anything because of their contract with FedEx. I don't care about their contract, I want what was ordered and paid for. Just going in circles with them and FedEX. If they shipped after 14 days it would be 22 days from that point, 32 days from the date of order if they shipped it that day. There was a deadline for installing this part before tenants arrive. They did not care, would not m"

"Called Toms Washer and Dryer Repair after seeing good reviews on several sites. My washer is in need of repair. I have a Samsung Front load washer that shakes too much during the spin cycle. I replaced the absorber shocks myself (paid $60 through Amazon for the parts) and it lasted about 6 loads of laundry when the shaking started again. Tom came over and said it needs shock absorbers and that he needs to order them will take 4 days to come in. After I mentioned that I just replaced them we both thought maybe I bought defective parts. He mentioned this should fix it and if it didn't he would eat the price of the shock. So I had to pay almost $200 for shocks (not including labor). He replaced the shocks (they looked identical to the ones I purchased) and it seemed to work. 6 load of laundry later and the problem is back. Called him to let him know the problem is happening again, he was puzzled why it was doing it again, said he doesn't know why it's doing it and the parts he put in should have worked. He called someone who mentioned it might need another part (springs). Said it would cost me around $70 for parts. Well I just spent a lot of money for him to fix a problem that didn't get fixed and he wanted to charge me more for something he doesn't know will fix the problem. Sorry, not happening."

Appliancezone.com is a leading on-line retailer of appliance parts and accessories for do-it-yourself homeowners. Incorporated in 2008, it was started by CEO, Jim Allen and his wife Paula, who operated an appliance repair business for nearly fourteen years prior to starting the internet company Appliance Zone.

"This is the first online review I've ever written -- my experience with this company was that bad. Three aspects that deserve attention: 1) I placed an order and tried to cancel six minutes later. Turns out they don't accept cancellations. 2) I couldn't find a phone number, so I had to work the return/refund by email. The exchange was painful -- so unhelpful I felt like I was interacting with a bad chatbot. 3) I ended up eating shipping costs (expected) and got hit for a 50% restocking fee (unexpected) because I refused the package instead of paying to ship it back. Didn't matter that it went to the correct address, was clearly labeled, and had prior return authorization. So I ended up with a $21 refund on a $60 order, and a lesson learned about where not to buy appliance parts."

"The person performing the service had to make several trips because one of the "new" parts turned out to be faulty. I found both Complete Protection and their local repair contractor to be both very responsive and totally professional at every stage of the repair process."

"I had my basement refinished by ProMaster. The framing was very poor, and in fact, I had to redo the bathroom to get the shower stall square enough to install the shower door. The drywall mudding was so poor, I had to redo it myself twice to get it acceptable enough. They installed every outlet in my basement, including my bar area, onto one circuit, so I can't even plug in my computer and microwave at the same time. They failed inspection because they had connected the bathroom circuit to a GFCI in a storage area."

"Our yard looks worse now than it did. Consistent bare spots dead gass and weeds. I have asked that some come out to speak directly with me about what I'm seeing so that we could correct it but they always send someone when I'm not here. Even after ask for a call before they arrive. I began seeing on my treatment statement that they "could not access the back yard". I do have a trailer on the side of the house but, I can get a mower past it. Even if their machine won't fit, I thought most companies would use a hand spreader. With that being said, I was always charged full price for half the work and product. The last application all this occurred. I called to tell them about the weeds and that I needed a spot treatment and after the treatment I wanted to cancel. I was then literally laughed at by Rebecca the call taker. Mind you the retreat is supposed to be part of the paid service. I then asked for her name, she said have a good day and hung up."

The average life span of an HVAC system is 15 to 20 years. Even if your old air conditioner is still functional, it isn't as energy-efficient as a newer system (especially one with an Energy Star designation). Older HVAC systems aren't as efficient, and the 10-year mark is when you should start making full system replacement plans. Twenty years in, that plan should be well underway rather than waiting for the unit to die.

Convection ovens are not ideal for cooking custards, quick breads, and other delicate desserts. Many other baked goods cook well in a convection oven; light and flaky crusts bake up perfectly, and convection ovens, with their dry heat, can be used to dehydrate or toast ingredients.

You’ll notice your heating element is bad if your oven isn’t heating. Another common sign is if food is cooked unevenly. The element itself could look damaged, like if there were cracks or blisters on the element’s surface. If there is no damage, check the continuity by using a multimeter.

Electric stoves cost an average of $600 to $1,300. Gas stoves can cost as little as $300 but are usually around $1,000. The price depends on functionalities, capacity, and technology. Newer models with Wi-Fi connection or remote app control typically cost a lot more. Induction stoves, one of the newest additions to the market, can be an expensive upfront investment. Most of them cost around $1,500, with higher-end models costing over $2,500.

Most appliance retailers have dedicated installation teams that can tackle the delivery and installation process simultaneously. Unfortunately, just because a retailer sells a specific appliance brand doesn’t mean that its installation technicians are certified by that manufacturer to complete the installation. You could end up with a voided warranty if the installer isn't certified, costing more money down the road. It’s best to find an installer that is certified by your appliance manufacturer, even if it means paying more or dealing with potential scheduling conflicts.
