"[Member Name Removed], Thanks for sharing your feelings about ProMaster Home Repair. We always appreciate the opportunity to set the record straight when former clients don't honestly represent their experience. First of all, we are always happy to perform warranty work when necessary. It is never a burden for us. Secondly, a towel rack isn't meant to be weight bearing. Third, if our craftsman smelled of alcohol and smoke, left a mess behind, and was generally rude, why would you invite us back out for another project? Finally, we often will notify a former client that we no longer feel comfortable working for them if they treat our representatives or craftsmen with disrespect or misrepresent facts and details. Seeing as how you went on a review binge after being notified that we would no longer perform work at your home, it appears that it was not our craftsman or his work that upset you. We wish you all the best in your search for a home repair contractor that better meets your needs and expectations. Sincerely, Don Kennedy, Owner ProMaster Home Repair"
"[Member Name Removed], Unfortunately, I cannot look up any information regarding your call, as we have no record of it. We regret that you interpreted Don's response to your request as rude, as we prefer to think of him as condescending. Lovable, but terribly condescending. At any rate, we are the BBB Torch Award Winner for business ethics - the only company in Cincinnati to win that award in the year we received it. I assure you that all of our employees are experts in their craft, and that we only hire the most trustworthy and capable home repair professionals. It's unfortunate that you weren't able to experience that, as you never invited us out for a consultation. We wish you nothing but the best, and thanks for sharing your experience. Take care, The ProMaster Home Repair Team"
"[Member Name Removed], Thanks for your review. I see that we didn't do any work for you, and that you spent no money with us, so I would say it probably worked out well for both of us. We wish you all the best in the future. Take care, The ProMaster Home Repair Team"
"Mr. [Member Name Removed], I'm sorry to hear we didn't achieve your expectations. It bothers me, however, when a client misrepresents the facts concerning their experience with our company. I'm thankful that we are in agreement that we aren't a good to fit to work together in the future. There are many other wonderful contractors to choose from here on Angie's List and I hope you find someone who is a great fit for your future needs. Take care, Don Kennedy President, ProMaster Home Repair"
"[Member Name Removed], Thanks for your feedback. No hard feelings, we're not for everyone and that's OK. Folks who invite us out are sick and tired of dealing with amateurs who don't answer their phone, never show up on time, don't fulfill their commitments or do shoddy work. For our clients, getting a clean, professional, competent, trustworthy, and skilled craftsmen to their home at an exact time that is convenient for them to diagnose a range of problems or scope a set of projects for $79 is a great value. We continue to have more work than we can handle year after year, so if the market continues to demand this level of service we will continue to deliver it. Take care, - Don Kennedy President, ProMaster"
"[Member Name Removed], Thanks for the compliment on our work. Our craftsmen really appreciate the pat on the back! - Don Kennedy President, ProMaster"
"[Member Name Removed], Jamie really enjoyed working with you as well! I appreciate wonderful clients like yourself... don't hesitate to call if you need anything else! - Don Kennedy President, ProMaster"
"[Member Name Removed]- Thanks for your feedback even though you disagree with our business model. We realize that our policy isn't for everyone, and that is OK. I appreciate your help in clarifying to the Angie's List community who is a good fit for our company and who is not. I'm a firm believer in diversity in the marketplace so each homeowner can find a provider that is best for them, even if it isn't ProMaster. Our objective in the marketplace is to address the deficit of trust and competence which characterizes our industry, not to be the cheapest people out there. Those who provide "free" estimates must roll the cost of their failed attempts to get work into the cost of those clients who hire them. To me, the promise to do something for "free," then roll all that cost into one's project isn't the most transparent way to operate. Our clients tell me repeatedly that they like our company because they get a real technician to diagnose a problem or scope a project, not a commissioned salesperson--which is often the case with those offering "free" estimates. Like almost all professional service companies, there is a service charge or fee to dispatch a technician to a home to solve a problem. We're no different. Sure, no one likes to pay for an diagnosis and estimate if they don't have to. And I can understand if a homeowner is just getting estimates to get a feel for what a project might cost, and hence doesn't want to pay for an expert opinion until they are sure of who they want to work with. But our clients keep telling us, over and over again... that to get a competent, trustworthy home repair craftsman, to their home at an exact time (not a range) to evaluate a wide range of problems or projects, and then have a professional customer service team follow up to make sure that estimate is complete, delivered and questions answered... is worth every dime of that $79. The marketplace continues to reward us with this model so we will continue to obey what our clients demand until they direct us in a different direction. In the meantime, I'm confident that you'll fine other great people to help you with your project here on Angie's List who operate in a more traditional fashion. Thanks for your feedback! Don Kennedy, President ProMaster Home Repair"
We've had so many bad experiences with handymen and contractors in the past, but Promaster has proven to me that you get what you pay for.
