"Use DEFENDER GLASS BLOCK, you will not be disappointed in any way! SPECIFIC FACTORS WHY: 1. Answers and returns calls/text right away. 2. Owners Zach – dark haired and Luke – wearing hat (pictures attached) extremely professional, great personalities and honest business practices. 3. Very reasonably priced. 4. Measure and installation within days. 5. No extra work, unless discussed with customer prior. 6. Leave work area clean and installation took about an hour for two windows. When I called Zach (pictures included) answered on the second ring. Was out the same day to measure, and by Saturday, Zach and Luke had two glass block basement windows installed. We will use DEFENDER GLASS BLOCK for all our glass block needs. Highly Recommended!"

"I had two leaded glass built-in cabinet doors that needed repair. The doors are close to the ground and kids had broken different panes over the years. Jim was very easy to work with. I was able to drop off and pickup the doors after hours. The quality of the repairs was excellent. I highly recommend contacting them for leaded or stained glass repair work."

"Queen City Glass block replaced our two pane glass basement windows with vented glass block windows. Every interaction during installation was warm and professional. The basement is now more secure, and will have cross ventilation.

"Replacing old glasses from Zen Windows."

"JFK provided helpful advice on choosing kind of windows and type of glass, etc. This company was not inexpensive, but we think it was very good quality. Work was done in a timely way and they did not make a mess. We are very happy with our new windows."

"Super guy and an absolute perfectionist. He installed glass panels for our renovated master bath. Superb quality and workmanship.

"Window glass was cleaned, inside and out, but they claimed 6 year old windows were "etched"  and they had no product to clean that , only Dawn dish soap. Windows are white coated framed and all the tracks were left very filthy. I had to do them myself after they left. It took two people 3 plus hours to do 47 panes of glass (each window top and bottom is considered a separate pane).
Later found I was robbed, since other neighbors have someone to do similar houses and number of windows for 1/2 the price!

"I would do business with McMaken again because of the quality of work which is very good but I am aware of frustrating problem in getting the job done. The contract was signed on May 1,2012 with the understanding of 6-10 weeks out to start. I am familiar with potential delays so more than 10 weeks would not have been unreasonable but the job did not start until November after many e mails and excuses. This then did cause me to question my decision if this company would be responsible and did I risk some up front money. Even during construction there were delays due to the contractor juggling jobs. James Mc Maken did an excellent job on this room addition and I believe him to be honest and he is courteous and nice on a one to one. I believe a termination clause is appropriate with this type contract, that a minimal good faith money down payment is enough and be clear on what the contractor is responsible for such as getting other sub contractors. I would not hesitate to have a room addition done by this contractor again but I would be more informed. The product is excellent, the room is tight with minimal temperature change. Only in the evening a small radiant heater is used even with the temperature in the teens to twenties, I wanted an All Season room with a glass ceiling and feeling of being out in the open yard/woods and I have that. The moonlight at night on the yard and snow is beautiful."
