NOT Deck or porch repair but no option for fireplace repair I hired Bill Hicks through Angi's list because he said he could fix my fireplace. At first it came across as Pristine Home Services but then when texting me it is actually Hicks Home Services. I have a whole timeline of horrible communication from him since 1/15. He came out to "fix" my fireplace and almost $1000 later it still is not fixed. It is in the exact same shape it was in before I hired him. DO NOT USE HIM. I have given every possible chance for him to come out as he said he would to look at it to figure out why it isn't working after he said it was fixed but he is avoiding me and blocked my phone. Very unprofessional

contractor's son broke out basement window with one of the floor boards. told his father i would take care of it. that is a lie, i even told him if it would save him money he could use plexiglass instead of glass. contractor ordered 6 ft railing (dont know why he would have to cut them) they are approx. 2 inches short of touching the 4 post . steps are crooked. one section of railing loose

I called Mr Hicks to discuss splitting wood and incorrect installing of a portion of the deck repair.. no call back yet. Price was too high!

The contractor, Hicks Home Services, built a set of steps that lead to the top of my porch. William (Bill) Hicks, and his son Stephen Hicks built the stairs. I gave them the check for building the stairs. Upon their completion, I went over to check the completion and noticed 3 distinct items right away. #1. The steps had different riser heights. The risers on the steps must be within 3/8" of each other per code in order for people to ascend and descent the stairs appropriately especially the elderly. Bill Hicks stated he had 24 years experience so the difference in riser height should not have been an issue. #2. The main ledger board that holds the weight of the stairs and personnel while ascending and descending was only being being held into place with (1) 3/8" bolt. The contractor, (Hicks Home Services) must have knew that this was not going to hold the weight because they put (2) 2x4 wood boards to help hold it up. Those boards which are helping hold the staircase up are not secured but wedged on the concrete and stairs for support which is unsafe. If Hicks Home Services believed in their workmanship, they would have never put the boards in place to help hold the main ledger board and stairs. #3. The stair spindles are placed too far apart thereby allowing space for a child to fall through. I talked with Bill about this and let him know that I was disappointed in his services. He then said he had 24 years experience. I let him know that the inspector of Kenton County Kentucky will not approve the installation. He told me to let him know what the inspectors says and he would fix the issue. I was not satisfied with that answer. I also ask him why only (1) bolt was holding up the ledger board, he stated he could not get through the material to install a another bolt. So I asked him, "Bill, are you telling me that these stairs are only being held up by (1) 3/8 bolts and 2 pieces of wood?" He said he would have his helper, his son Stephen to install another bolt, and the 2 boards holding up the ledger would be ok since they are on concrete. Bill left the work site, to attend to another job he had in Cincinnati, Ohio. Stephen came back and installed another 3/8 bolt. Stephen installed the bolt in 5 minutes which tells me the bolt is not installed correctly to help hold the weight. Hicks Home Services removed my gutter drain and did not reinstall it, just left it unhooked. I contacted Bill after he left and told him I would like my steps rebuilt so they are safe and according to code. He did not answer his phone but he did receive the voicemail of me stating that I want it redone. He texted me back and said he was in a meeting but he would be back on Friday October 4th, 2024 to fix all the issues. After not hearing back from Bill with Hicks Home Services, I texted him and got back a incoherent text message. I continue to contact Bill but there was no response. I then called Angi to register a formal complaint. Hicks Home Services per Angi is banned from Angi list of providers until they fix my unsafe stairs.

DO NOT HIRE! A new garage motor, springs, rollers, etc. were installed, but it only lasted a couple of days because the lag bolts (needed 4 only installed 2) for the rail were not put into studs over the garage header, and hence they pulled out. I've called repeatedly and my calls are not being returned. I paid a lot of money and still can't use my garage door.

On time very professional job completed beautifully

They were great. The only drawback was that they don't take credit cards currently. Their website says they do. They were very accommodating.

I hired this company and they had to reschedule. The day they were supposed to show up they didnâ t call and they didnâ t show. I sent them texts and left messages on voicemail and never got a response back. Pathetic.

Fast and efficient prices reasonable around 300 dollars to replace two torsion springs

We were in need of quick repair of our garage door. The door was damaged because of malfunctioning sensors. We were unable to close the door and were worried about the safety of our home. We consulted one reputable company and the guy came and told us the garage door had to be replaced and gave us an estimate of $6000.00 for the garage door replacement. Our money was withdrawn from the bank account before they even did any work which was scheduled in 5 days. We called Garage Door Repair 911. The father and his son came the same day, exactly at the time they said. They actually repaired the garage door to the point that the damage was hardly visible. They made our house safe. They charged us $700. Thank you 911 service. I would recommend these guys to everyone. Great people, job well done.

Very responsive and competent But overpriced

The technician arrived about 1 1/2 hours after I contacted them. Very pleasant young man. He got right to work and did an excellent job.

We had a large gap under one side of our garage door, which the technician was able to repair quickly. He suggested I buy and install a new seal for the bottom of the door. After I installed the new seal, the gap came back although smaller than before. I called to ask if he would not mind send a tech by if they were in the area as the first repair took less than 10 minutes. He had someone stop out and completed a 5 minute repair, but only after telling me that the repair would cost another $90 fee. I was happy with the repair and the professionalism with the technician, I just would have appreciated knowing that the second balancing would cost almost the same as the first.

They call within 30 minutes of being contacted. Had a technician at my house within 2-3 hours. Door was repaired 1 hour later. Fast service, would use again.

Fast repair. Person repairing was so friendly to my family. He recommended a better solution I hadn’t even considered for my door issue.
