"Professional and friendly! Arrived on time for both pick up and drop off. I used for removal of old items no longer needed, which I loaded myself. No pressure, which I found to be nice, given I could work at my own pace. I would recommend 100% and will be using again in the future."

"Keshon and Timothy were our crew. Wow. I'm impressed. The. Best. Movers. I. Have. Ever. Used. They called me to see if they could come early. We weren't near ready. Didn't fase them. We had two dogs- standard poodle puppy and a toy poodle. They helped me put the dogs in the bathroom when they got out of the house. They were so kind, patient and sincere to my elderly Mom. They moved things out of the way quickly and efficiently and then patiently placed the dressers just where Mom wanted. Things were VERY dusty. Never a complaint. They found cash- immediately pointed out to me or my son. I asked for a large TV to go in my car- done. I would trust these guys to come not only back but to be in our home while I'm at work - something that I would rarely do. They are THAT professional. Excellent, hardworking gentlemen. Highly, extremely recommend them. (I'm very picky.)"

"These guys were great!! We had a delivery of a massive new front, all in one piece, very heavy. They handled it of total care and stored it in our garage with all the very long trim pieces for installation next day. Kind of an unusual item to deliver so was concerned about the glass, scratching, damage. Again, 5-star handling and very pleased!!"

"Overall, it went great! They brought a large crew both times (7-8 movers), all were very friendly and helpful and moved very quickly and efficiently. They were well trained and experienced moving crew. Most of the movers were involved in both moves. We had a fairly large amount of stuff, most of it was boxed ahead of time. What wasn't, they boxed it up for us. When we moved out, they sent two men back to take care of the trash, some large items, and dispose of it. They even swept out our garage. During the long storage time, Jeffers sent two men to Arhaus to pick up new furniture and add it to the storage "pile." It took them a day and a half to move out our stuff (there was an issue with one of their trucks, and we needed three truck loads. They moved everything back in in about 8 hours. Recognize that the movers had to pack trucks, then unpack them for storage. For the July 1 move-in, they packed the trucks on June 30 to move them in the next day. I believe that if they simply moved them from one house to another (3 trucks), the cost would have been much, much lower. I strongly recommend them to anyone, and have who were equally satisfied with Jeffers. They know what they are doing and move very quickly, having fun along the way. The crew treats you like you are family, and your possessions like they are theirs. Jeffers quotes you a price up front (they are not on a clock looking for extra hours) and doesn't push you if it's beyond their estimated time.

Garbage Collection questions, answered by experts

If the cost of repairing a leaking garbage disposal is close to the cost of replacing the disposal, then fixing the unit might not make sense. When deciding if you should repair or replace your garbage disposal, consider the age of your garbage disposal, the cost of the repair, and whether your garbage disposal has had other problems recently to help you decide if the cost of repairing the leak is better than the cost of replacing the disposal.

Garbage disposals can be considered bad for the environment due to their electricity usage, but good for the environment because they reduce the food waste sent to landfills. If everyone used a garbage disposal, it would tax the wastewater treatment facilities in that region, but if we had to choose one of the options, we’d say they are a net positive on the environment when used correctly.

Continuous feed garbage disposals are the favorite model for many homeowners for a reason. As opposed to batch feed models, add food scraps to the drain whenever the disposal is running. This variety is also typically less expensive, more convenient, and easier to clean.

On average, a garbage disposal can last anywhere from 7 to 12 years, with many models functioning well for about 10 years. With heavy usage, a motor may last a minimum of five years, while grinding plates will wear down over time. It's generally a good idea to consider a replacement if your unit is approaching the 10-year mark. Other signs that it's time for a new disposal include frequent leaks, persistent clogs, lingering odors, lack of power, or unusual noises. If your unit is not that old, it's worth investigating if a less expensive part, like a rubber seal or a loose hose, is causing the issue.

The most common garbage disposal size in the U.S. is 1/2 horsepower. This size is ideal for households with three or fewer people or those that don't produce much food waste. Although 1/2 horsepower can't handle the typical food waste load for a household of four (which is about 250 pounds of food waste annually) as effectively as 3/4 horsepower, it remains the most common size of garbage disposal on the market.
