Family owned & operated. Fireplace wood stacked, split & delivered. By the cord or by the trailer load. Types of wood: oak, birch, maple. Firewood racks & kindling.

"They conformed to my schedule when the weekend wasn't good for me and showed up exactly on time. The wood was properly stacked and not crisscrossed which wastes space and lowers the amount of wood you get. The size of the wood pieces was consistent and a perfect size for a fireplace. The price was very competitive. They cleaned up after themselves and were very friendly. Good experience. Recommended. Will buy from again when I need more fireplace wood."

We are Locally owned and operated by Mike Lutz. We are licensed bonded and insured. Mike has been in the industry for 30 years. We are dedicated to providing the kind of service that we would expect when inviting someone into our home for needed repairs, replacements and recommendations. We have access to other manufacturers as well. For service, repairs needing parts can be generally be completed in the first trip, as our truck stock is quite complete. We do offer free estimates for equipment installations.

"During a recent heat wave, so many AC guys were scheduling initial visits weeks away, and installs additional weeks after that. Genesis came out to review my problem days after contacted, and installed new AC about a week after that. Responsive, courteous, professional and cheaper than the area big HVAC companies."

"We were so pleased with the bathroom remodeling Country Creek did for us in 2019, we hired them in 2020 to remodel our 30-year-old kitchen. Project included removing a non-bearing wall and moving plumbing lines to eliminate soffits; creating an island and installing all new lighting. The result was stunning. We couldn't be happier with the work Dan, Dave and crew did. They treated our home as their own, never taking shortcuts and always doing it right, even if that meant extra work. They are a pleasure to work with and we highly recommend Country Creek Builders."

"Jon did a nice job on the Kitchen Backsplash. He was always on time and listened to what we wanted done. He cleaned up everything very well after he completed the work and I could tell he cared about the work done. Easy to talk to and provided tips on maintenance of the tile. He was always very quick to respond when we sent him an e-mail. Would recommend."

2009 Winner -Twin Cities Builder Association- Subcontractor/Associate Of The Year. Highest Possible rating at Better Business Bureau. No subs. Average experience of service reps and installers over 10 years. In business since 1971.

"Called IDC to replace broken spring on garage door. Good technician, service completed, all seemed good. Exactly 1 1/2 years later to the day, the spring snapped again. Two other garage-door companies advised that the spring should have lasted 3-5 years even with heavy usage, and the part was most likely defective. IDC flatly informed us they have a 1-year warranty and the repair would be full price. Bad part, bad business. No thanks."

We are professional fabricators & installers of granite, natural stone and quartz countertops, fireplaces, shower & tub surrounds, backsplashes etc.

"This is the counter top I have! Do not EVER purchase quartz counters made by Universal Stone, after this experience I wouldn’t trust anything from them. They have their own line of quartz and they may LOOK beautiful but they are terrible!!! I have had them for less than a year!! I can’t even have my children do homework in our kitchen, on the huge beautiful island we had installed because they have absolutely NO durability. The spiral of a notebook, a tin pan of brownies cut with a butter knife, the buckle of a purse gently set down can and WILL make grey linear markings all over that cannot be removed by ANY per their words “safe” cleaners. I tried everything from diluted alcohol, rubbing alcohol on small spots, soft scrub gel (removed some but left a different stain), their $30 Bravo cleaner they assured me would work, 409 for counters, NONE OF THEM WORKED!! Then I tried Bar Keepers Friend on one small spot after researching and it worked but left a bright white mark and after checking with them I was told to never use it as it damages the counter-that one was my mistake. I informed them of everything and they sent a tech out today. And to my surprise he insisted on using Bar Keepers Friend. Again it worked like I knew it would, but it ALSO left the counter top in that area whiter than the rest. I didn’t allow him to do the other 10+ areas as I was told to avoid BKF from their staff and I didn’t want him to ruin anything further. He told me I needed to contact Jenna then, so I did. She said my counters and fine and nothing is wrong with them and that their staff can use BKF because they have been trained (but he left the same white marks I did) but homeowners should not us it. How can I keep my counters scuff free when the only product that works makes the spots 10x by both myself and their tech. I have normal manufactured white quartz at our cabin and have had ZERO issues with marks or staining, so the problem is clearly with the ones they manufacture. My initial island they installed had two bright white lines going down the whole thing and another bright white spot. I pointed it out to the tech when he came by after install and he said there was nothing he could do. Reached out to Jenna my sales rep and eventually got it replaced at no cost to me….. great, EXCEPT had I known how unusable the countertop material really was I would have had them all removed at that time. They clearly make a very poor quality quartz counter and tahr ZERO responsibility for it. Per them, there is “nothing wrong with them” but I also can’t clean off the multiple marks all over my counters unless I use BKF and turn the grey linear marks into big white blotches which is NOT a solution to the problem. My family and I barely use the counters because of all these issues. We invested in redoing our kitchen and intended for it to be the main gathering place of our home but Universal Stone has ruined that. See Google review for pictures: The first 3 pictures are if the island the initially installed. Everything after that is some of the markings/stains in multiple places. The last picture is the white blotches he left after fixing 1 area. On top of this there are also chips in two areas and one of the sides of the island didn’t get fuller sanded/buffered before install- (this part I just told them today so they have not had an opportunity to correct but I’m also not getting my hopes up) STAY FAR AWAY FROM ANY UNIVERSAL STONE MADE QUARTZ!"

Our company has provided complete general contracting services for residential remodeling projects since 1978. Employees. Use only Licensed & Insured Sub-Contractors with long-term relationships. MN Lic. # BC-2562. Serving The Twin Cities Since 1978. EPA RRP Certified

"Overall, the project went very well, We are happy with the quality of the work and the result. The plans were creative, and we were happy with the design selections and guidance. There were a few unexpected changes to layout due to structural constraints, which resulted in a less efficient flow. The cost of change orders were not clearly explained prior to execution. The contractor was very hands on and at the job site extensively, and she was easy to get a hold of. The carpenter was not available to work on the project on Fridays, which did extend the project timeline. The contractor pointed out repairs/improvements that needed to be made to bring the home up to code. This added cost, but was necessary and appreciated."

"We hired Jake Servais and his company on 11/26/18 to do snow removal for the season for $500. The first time the weather required snow removal they never showed up, and then called to say they were having mechanical issues and would it be ok if they didn't come (only about 2" of snow so I said ok). They did come 1x and remove some snow in late December. Then, on Monday (1/28), we got significant snowfall while we were out of town. I was assured via text from Jake they would be on it, as we had grandparents watching our kids. We had NO SERVICE. And then I went searching to see if we had been victim of fraud by this company. I found Jake Servais facebook page where he lists in early January the sale of all his snow equipment. I have no idea what is going on, but have made multiple attempts by email, phone and facebook messenger to connect and have got NO RESPONSE. I am looking into calling the police and want a refund of our $500."

Fireplaces questions, answered by experts

If you have a gas fireplace with an electric ignition and you’re experiencing a power outage, you will need to light your fireplace’s pilot manually before you can start a fire. The instructions should be in the manufacturer’s manual.

Yes, it’s worth capping a chimney. Here are several reasons to install a chimney cap:

  • Keep out rain, snow, wildlife, and other debris

  • Help prevent chimney fires

  • Reduce your chimney’s exposure to moisture

  • Maintain your chimney flue liner

  • Help reduce energy bills by helping regulate your home’s temperature

A liter of bioethanol costs $11 and burns for around four hours, making it cost around $2.75 per hour to keep your bioethanol fireplace running. For comparison, natural gas costs around $0.50 per hour, and propane costs around $1.60 per hour.

How much it costs you to run your bioethanol fireplace largely depends on how often you use it. Hypothetically speaking, if you run your fireplace for four hours a week year-round, you’ll go through one liter of biofuel per week or about $570 per year to run the fireplace.

Sometimes chimney caps blow off during storms or fall off after rusting away. While this typically won’t cause structural damage, failing to replace a chimney cap can. A chimney cap prevents moisture, animals, and debris from entering your chimney, all of which can cause serious problems, such as damage to the masonry or blockages in the flue.

DIY cleaning involves brushes and safety gear, but it may not be safe to reach high or hidden areas, so professional service provides comprehensive assurance.
