He did the inspection and then came back a second time when i couldn't figure out how use the the thermostat.
Good work did not charge for second visit.

It was alright.  I wasn’t real happy with their service.  They went through leaky gas pipe and when I called them back about it they said it was time for service warranty and they wouldn’t do anything about it and they will charge me another $400 for coming to fix the leak they had left and I negotiated and got it down to $200 and they should have taken full responsibility for that.

Overall a good company on the HVAC end of their business.  Superior to most of the other "retail" oriented hvac shops in Dubuque.  Not the lowest prices.  Fireplace sales and service were not very knowledgeable, but they were honest.

Everyone from Patterson was on time, cleaned up after themselves. When the boiler had a problem due to manufacturer error, Patterson worked up until the problem was corrected. Patterson was a little more expensive...

High quality work no complaints

Our 10-year-old-furnace was working intermittently.  Called Patterson for repairs on 3/17/13 and service tech replaced furnace igniter.  Service Tech stated that furnace drain hoses needed to be replaced and also recommended purchase of a new furnace.  New drain hoses were replaced on 3/20/13.  Furnace still not working correctly and called for service again.  On 4/19/13 service tech replaced furnace smart valve.  Furnace still not working and on 4/23/13 service tech resealed inducer motor housing.  Furnace still not working correctly and on 4/26/13 service tech, once again, resealed inducer motor housing and said he may need to replace pressure vent switch.  Furnace still not working correctly. 
Overall, Patterson could not accurately diagnose our furnace problem.  I feel they just kept replacing expensive parts with either the hope that something would work or they could sell us a brand new furnace.  Service techs were not knowledgeable in the repair of our furnace.  Some of our repair costs were refunded, but not all that we paid.  We feel we should have received the service promised for the amount of money spent.

Overall, they made an expensive and unexpected purchase as pleasant as possible.  I would definitely recommend them (and have).

I had them put in a furnace 20 years ago and it has been a very good furnace. They also put in an air conditioning unit about 15 years ago and it was an excellent air conditioning unit. It was time to replace this furnace and take advantage of federal tax rebates. I've had good experiences with them before. They are locally owned and they are really quality people. The technicians were really pleasant and good people to work with. They were really polite and good folks.

I have had excellent experience with them.  They worked together with the roof guys and did an excellent job.  They were accommodating on the custom job.  His price was in the ball park.  They could have done better with the duct work since one bedroom is still cold.

They were very prompt in coming to look at the project that needed to be done. They came and checked things out. They called back within an hour and a half with an estimate. I thought it was reasonable. They were good about just doing it. They came, did it, and left. They cleaned up after themselves. There was no problem at all.

They were extremely professional and very tidy.  They were here the very same day that I called them.  I would use them again in the future.
