"Multi saved the day on my renovation project. It was absolutely disastrous! In the middle of my renovation, the carpenter that was referred to me by a fellow colleague walked off on the job. No warning and no reason, I was left with only ½ of my home remodeled, while my family and I were stranded in a small rental home waiting to return. Spencer and his team came to the rescue. In the matter of a few days his contractors were finishing projects and fixing several mistakes made by the previous carpenter. I was able to move back into our home on time without issue. There are a few different types of paints that you can use on cabinets—latex, acrylic, and oil-based. Most cabinet painters choose latex, but acrylic paints are also a great choice. In addition to the type of paint, you also need to select a finish. Matte finishes tend to be less durable, whereas semi-gloss or high-gloss options are better for highly-used cabinets. 

It’s important to note that regular wall paint does not adhere to cabinets correctly—you’ll need cabinet-specific paint. 

When it comes to kitchen cabinets, most homeowners opt for stock cabinetry. Not only is stock cabinetry more affordable than custom or semi-custom options, but it’s also typically readily available for a quick installation. RTA cabinets are popular types of kitchen cabinets as well, but often aren’t as durable and can be difficult to build.

There is no official name for an open gap between the top of the cabinets and the ceiling. However, when that area is covered with a boxy shape to hide wires or pipes, this is known as a soffit. In some cases, this area may also be hidden with a bulkhead, a lower ceiling area that fits just above the cabinets.

For outdoor kitchen cabinets, choose wood that is naturally more weather-resistant. Teak, Brazilian walnut, white oak, and mahogany are all excellent choices. Avoid pine, cedar, and other softwoods, as they are more susceptible to damage and catch fire quickly. No matter what type of wood you choose, you’ll need to apply sealants, oils, and stains regularly to protect your cabinets from harm.

It depends on your ceiling height. Wall cabinets are typically mounted 54 inches from the floor. So, if you have eight-foot ceilings, you’ll need 42-inch-high wall cabinets to fill the gap. And you’ll need 54-inch cabinets if you have nine-foot ceilings. But standard-sized cabinets don’t come in 54 inches, so you'll need to stack various sizes together. And, if you have ceilings higher than nine feet, it’s a good idea to have custom stacked cabinets made to fill your space.
