"Your Designs LLC Reply I have been a reputable business since 1988 The balance due ($1,817) to Your Designs LLC is contractual in the original first agreement. No matter where you go, any drawings with measurements are always confirmed and approved by the customer with a signature on the document which makes them responsible. I did measure incorrectly and failed to get his signature, resulting in a mistake of $1,205.66 I did explain this to the customer and in all fairness he agreed to pay half $602.83 less $250 for the miss measured cabinet value in a signed change order (Attached) which is part of the $1,024.59 he is asking for reimbursement. The individual items the customer is talking about is in the signed change order as well. The custom molding/soffit $750 was added because he wanted to change the look midway through the project. The $311.76 was charged because it was an actual floor cost $1,811.76 from the original contract allowance of $1,500. I showed him the flooring invoice and did not add a 25% markup for my general contracting services. Omega Flooring is a company I have used several times. Since they have always done a good job for me. I sub-contracted them to do the [Member Name Removed] project. The sub-contractor's I trust, I give access via a lock box on the customers home. In this case Omega Flooring sent out an inexperienced installer and a thief (See attached [Member Name Removed] loss $259.90). Inexperienced, because he did a terrible job resulting in Omega Flooring having to re do the entire floor, which they did promptly. Omega Flooring's revised invoice (Attached) shows a discount of $600 for our troubles ([Member Name Removed] $259.90 and Your Designs LLC $340.10) I currently carry all A's on Angie's List. If I were to get a negative review from my customer, how much business would I lose? How could we put a price on this? How did they come up with $340.10? This is why I will not pay them. [Member Name Removed] has set a loss of $259.90, at this time I cannot put a price on my loss since it is not clear what the extent of the damage is to my company by a unfavorable review will be. So far I have all my time involved dealing with this issue, not to mention a delay in the job while I had to wait and then supervise the second install. I may end up in litigation with Omega Flooring. A police report was made by my customer for the theft. It is clear from his loss statement that there were cameras in the home all along, which I was never told about. [Member Name Removed] had been watching me all along for many days while remodeling his kitchen. He even trusted me stay there at his home on the weekend while he was away so I could get more done. I had one day left to complete this project when I found out about the cameras and was really upset about the trust I thought we had and the infringement on my privacy. How would you feel? Summary: 1. The last contractual installment due to Your Designs LLC is $1,817 a. [Member Name Removed] is withholding this payment because I did not finish the last day of the project. I have pictures showing what needs to be done and its 99% completion b. Reply: I will come back and finish the job while the customer is home so the cameras won't be an issue or give a credit of $500 for one days labor and a theft credit of $259.90 making the balance owed $1,057.10 2. [Member Name Removed] is asking for a $1,024.59 reimbursement, which was an already agreed, paid and signed agreement. a. Reply: this is a contractual done deal, has no bearing, let's move on. 3. Omega Flooring invoice shows a balance due by Your Designs LLC of $625.41 this amount will be considered when the total damage is calculated by my company after the review. All parties will be informed of the outcome."

"I agree, since this kitchen was all custom, it did take longer than expected, but the end result was worth it. We ran into mold which required the complete tear out of all the drywall, insulation and three layers of rotted sub-floor right down the the floor joists. The kitchen has other custom elements such as all custom cabinets, a glass block wall supporting a granite counter-top and a back-splash that was stainless steel mosaic pattern, truly amazing!"
