Terin Wales

We received many estimates for this rather large project and were very skeptical, as we live 3 hours away. We were looking to have a 24x40 garage built at our lakefront home and we needed our sliding glass door replaced and framing repaired as it had been neglected and was rotting. We decided to go with Terin Wales, because his estimate was very reasonable, and because we actually received a written, detailed proposal in the mail, it was impressive! He was very easy to get a hold of and returned calls within the day (others did not). Doing a project this big, remotely, you need to know you can get a hold of the contractor and trust what he says. Terin did just that and listened to what we wanted, made great suggestions, pulled permits, cooperated with the tree service working at the same time on our property, and kept us up to date almost daily when we weren't  there.  We can't say enough great things about this contractor. Quality work! Very professional! Finished on time! Did many unexpected extra things that just solidify what contractors should do -please the customer! For example, our rotted sliding glass door frame, they spent an entire day fixing and reframing it, then made sure it wouldn't happen again by sealing it properly. They even replaced the framing and cleaned up the mess on the inside and it looks fabulous! We decided to add a window to the garage, no problem, we now have 2 because Terin gave us such a great deal on some he already had in stock and it looks fabulous!  I could go on, but all you need to know is WE ARE VERY PLEASED! We have many more projects ahead and we will definitely hire Terin and his team for all of them, big or small!

We contacted Terin Wales on May 2014 and he was there within hours to see what we wanted done on our cabin. The next week, Memorial Day Weekend he contacted us to show us an estimate for a 24 x 28 garage. My husband told him we would like it done by the fourth of July and Terin said all things considered he would try, cement had to be poured, weather conditions, whatever is under the ground in this heavily wooded area....Long story short the cement held up the project by a few days as the were tons of rocks and tree roots that had to be removed...along with that and his other jobs he and his crew kept in touch with us throughout the project as we were only there a couple of weekends. He did an excellent job matching the existing shingle on the end where he added the garage (we built the cabin over several years and didn't match as well).

We were so impressed with the courtesy and professionalism not to mention attention to detail, that we hired him and his crew to build a roof over the entire rest of the cabin. We had an addition that had a shallow pitch to the roof over it and wanted to have a steeper pitch. We contacted Terin again in May for the job to be done by the 4th. Each rafter goes from the peak to the front wall with supports to keep the weight even throughout. They did an excellent job again finishing a week early. This job included matching the T-11 siding grooves down to a millimeter. We happened to be there when they were finishing up one day and they pick up everything....any nails on the ground any scrap of wood. We would highly recommend Terin and his guys as they do a great job.

Terin is a very conscientious, deliberate man. He did an excellent job drawing up a plan and giving us an accurate estimate to a pretty extensive project. He did what he said he was going to do and finished more than 2 weeks before the deadline we had given to him. This work was done at our cottage in Harrison and we live down state and he kept us in the loop as to what was going on and how things were going. We would definitely hire him again. Things look great and everyone loves it!

Terin and his guys were wonderful to work with We had water damage which required our cabin to be stripped back to the studs and the main flooring was removed as well back to the floor stringers. is a little eccentric and readily admits to his memory not being what it used to be- you just have to take the time to make sure he writes it down and then it will get done. Our cabin has been transformed into the cottage in the north every detail that he saw was fixed including many that were the fault of the original builder - which was my Dad and his buddies back in 1969Now we have a well insulated cabin with a beautiful kitchen with new cabinets and a lovely new bathroom. The attention to detail was outstanding and everything was done to perfection and they have just finished on time and to the contracted price. We just communicated regularly and made some modifications here and there to make sure we both were happy. Some of the items done

Blocking of foundation in areas that were not to code

New paneling and insulation - hung drywall first so the paneling would lay flat

New external doors on first and second floors

New Ceiling tiles throughout

New cabinets and Counter tops and sink

New bathroom including some constrution work and new shower floors and fully drywalled

New hardwood floors in main floor throughout

New trim throughout

This project was truly a blessing and I would highly recommend Terin and his guys

I had several estimates and most contractors could not understand how to attach the roof the way I wanted it. Terin saw immediately what I wanted and how to attach it. His estimate was fair and his work was flawless. I would HIGHLY recommend him.

We hired Mr Wales and his team because we were impressed by his suggestions for the work we wanted done when he came to do our estimate. For example, I wanted new steps for the back door because the original ones were uneven and the top step had a very long, uncomfortable rise. Mr Wales suggested making each step deeper, with a smaller rise, so I could come and go from that door using my rolling walker. We liked the idea so much we asked him to do the same for the deck; work we originally hadn't planned on doing.

Mr Wales and his team were hard-working, tolerant of my overly-friendly dogs, and readily available to answer all our questions. The resulting work is solid and eye-pleasing. A few unexpected problems popped up (what project doesn't have a few of those?) and Mr Wales was straight with me in reporting the problem and the solution. He didn't try to hide it or take advantage.

They were also great about working around my schedule. I also had people working on the inside of the house during the same time frame,so there was a juggling of vehicles in the driveway and the use of doors while the work was being done. Everyone worked well together and there were no conflicts.

I recommend Mr Wales to everyone in the Harrison (Clare County) area and would not hesitate to use them again. The only reason why I did not give all A's is because of a few things that came up in the builder's family life. It caused us a bit of anxiety, not being sure how long a delay it would cause, but it ended up not taking long at all.
