They showed up on the date and time we had Scheduled and even called the day before to make sure we would be home. His crew came in introduced themselves. They explained what all they were doing to make sure we were all the same page as per Ron's visit. They wasted no time in getting to work and finishing up and cleaning the job site up.I would highly recommend them for your project's. "I hired Thermal Solutions to spray foam insulate my pole barn and they did an excellent job. I got 4 quotes and theirs was the cheapest. They say never go with the cheapest, but I did because I wanted to support a veteran owned, local business, and after talking with Niko, I felt confident the job would be done right. I'm really glad that I did because they came when they said they would, they did it just the way that I wanted, and they did a great job of cleaning up when they were done. I highly recommend them for open and closed cell spray foam insulation jobs!"

"We tried Comfort Zone among several providers because it quoted the lowest price.  The highest quote was $430 from A rated provider from Angies list.  Another quote was $150.

They came on time.  The owner (apparently) and two workers.

I saw how they did.  They grabbed leaves and branches piled on the gutter cover and washed the gutters afterwards.  They did all gutters of our home (2900 sq. ft, two story building).

The work was done in one hour.  They did not charge extra.  They did not try to sell other services.

Despite some mixed reviews (which concerned me), I think that they are honest and did excellent services.

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Installing insulation helps reduce energy usage, improve home comfort, and lower utility bills by maintaining stable indoor temperatures year-round.

The R-value is a rating that measures an insulation's thermal resistance—in other words, how well it insulates. A higher R-value provides more protection for your pipes, and all pipe insulation materials should have an R-value listed on the product description or label. Each insulation type has its own R-value, which typically falls between one and five for most pipe insulation. When making a selection, Energy.gov recommends choosing a pipe wrap that is at least one inch thick, and the International Code Council (ICC) suggests choosing a material with an R-value of at least 3.

Radiant barriers and insulation serve different purposes, so one is not inherently better than the other. Radiant barriers reflect radiant heat, helping keep spaces cool, especially in hot climates, while insulation slows heat transfer through conduction. For optimal energy efficiency, it’s best to use both together.

Radiant barriers can enhance the performance of insulation by preventing heat gain in the summer and heat loss in the winter. The choice between them depends on specific climate conditions and the building’s design requirements.

The average U.S. homeowner pays $1,850 to insulate their home. However, the cost of insulation depends on the type, the size of your home, and who does the installation work.

The cost of foam board insulation depends on whether it's made from expanded polystyrene (EPS) or extruded polystyrene (XPS). EPS has the lower price point, usually costing between $0.25 and $0.50 per board foot, while XPS costs between $0.40 and $0.50 per board foot.

To keep cold out, look for treatments that sit close to the window frame and are made from thick, insulating materials. Thermal curtains, cellular shades, window quilts, and insulated shutters can all help retain heat. Layering window treatments, like pairing lined curtains with cellular shades, can provide even better insulation by further reducing drafts and heat transfer.
