This year is the first time we have used it for the entire winter. If the temperatures are mild the system works okay. If the temperature drops below 30 degrees it will not heat our home. We were able to keep the house warm thanks to our pellet stove. In Hine sight, We wish we would have stayed with the conventional boiler system for about half of what we paid for this inadequate system. buyers know what you are getting into before you buy."

If your AC refrigerant is low, you may notice that the unit takes longer than usual to cool your home or that your energy bills are higher. You may even feel a warm breeze coming from the vents when the AC refrigerant is low. Don’t attempt to check refrigerant levels yourself. While it's generally safe to stay in a home with a coolant leak if your home is properly ventilated, it's important to have a professional come out to assess the situation right away. A dirty AC filter can lower the efficiency of your system, so depending on how dirty it was, you may notice a temperature difference when you clean your filter. You can try other solutions if your AC isn’t blowing as cold as it used to. You can call in a local HVAC tech to make sure everything is running correctly, fix your air seal if it’s a window unit, and clean your coils.
Good news: Your AC system doesn’t need Freon (a popular refrigerant) added regularly, if ever. Freon only needs to be added when there’s a refrigerant leak; however, it’s not uncommon for a gradual leak to occur every 5 to 15 years. Signs of a refrigerant leak include higher utility bills, increased humidity in the house, weakened AC performance, and a hissing sound from the system.
Both evaporator coils and condenser coils are recyclable and contain valuable, sellable metals such as copper and aluminum. Not only is it more earth-friendly to take them to a local metal recycling facility, but you can also trade them in for cash. Also, once the coils are removed from the system, they won’t have any traces of refrigerant, so you won’t have to arrange for recycling Freon or R-410A unless you’re disposing of the entire AC system.
