There should be small gaps between your roof and the walls of your home, and other buildings. Homeowners insurance sometimes covers roof decking, but it depends on the cause of damage and whether the decking was properly installed. However, if you’re having a contractor build the roof for you, then trusses will be less expensive, as the labor costs to build roof framing on-site will cost more.
