"I revoke my previous F rating. The owner, Lal Bo, made a house call to apologize and explain the situation. Lal Marin was the plumber who did not show twice. Although my plumbing problems were fixed by a different company, I will reach out to Day & Night next time I have a problem."

"R&G exceeded my expectations. They called me before I finished punching their phone number in. The plumbers we've used for 20 years did not pick-up, can't imagine why, it's only Christmas day. R&G showed up when they said they would, spent a few minutes looking at the system, identified the issue and resolved it in 15 minutes. Yes, I'll use them again and recommend them to others."

"Rema was very thorough when installing my new kitchen faucet. He came to my home at 6:15pm, which surprised me. In my experience, it’s difficult to get a plumber past 5pm! My faucet works perfectly and he was very nice. He said he has been doing plumbing for 20 years! I think I have found my “go to” plumber!"

"The man with whom I spoke (Joe in plumbing) pulled a scheduling near-miracle to get my hot water heater replaced within 24 hours of my first speaking to him. The plumbers who came to install it were courteous, focused and friendly. The only better outcome, as far as I’m concerned, would have been if my 18-year old water heater had been repairable. Now THAT woul have been a miracle!"

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

If your toilet won’t stop running, you might have a bad fill valve. This may be the case if the valve has calcium or debris buildup, is cracked, or shows visible signs of wear and tear. A bad fill valve may also be the culprit if you’ve already checked the flapper and chain and adjusted the fill height to no avail.

The clearest sign that something is wrong with your galvanized piping is if you can see rust or corrosion on the exterior. These indicate that the same problems are present on the inside of the pipes. You should contact a licensed plumber right away so that they can inspect your pipes. Other signs include poor performance of your gas appliances, high gas bills, and if your pipes are past the lifespan of 20 to 50 years.

The nice thing about outdoor water spigots is they last on average 10 to 20 years, depending on the model that you have. If you do happen to see any type of issue outside of that range, investigate the cause and what needs to be fixed to prevent further damage to your pipes or your home.

Snaking a toilet is similar to clearing sinks and bathtubs, but there are unique circumstances where you’d have to drain, disassemble, and remove the toilet to fix the clog. For stubborn clogs in the toilet trap, a toilet auger—designed with a shorter cable and a protective plastic encasing—can navigate the tight bends and clear the clog without risking damage to the porcelain.

While the toilet bowl and toilet tank require haul away to your curb, landfill, or recycling center, you can dispose of your old, used toilet seat in your regular garbage collection. If your toilet seat is plastic or duroplast, you can even recycle it instead at a local recycling facility.
