First, they responded by phone within an hour of my requesting a quote through Angie's. The dispatcher, Bona, was friendly and knowledgeable, and she said that Fred could come out the next morning between 9-10am, which he did. Fred did a great job. He's very thorough and personable. He explained everything that he was going to do and the reasons for doing each thing, and then went over each item when he was finished. I was very impressed and definitely will use them again for future plumbing needs.

The work that was done exceeded my expectations. The problems with the leaky bathroom sink were identified and fixed. As the main project ended, we discovered a problem with the kitchen sink not draining and the garbage disposal not working. I didn't expect the problem to be fixed right away, but I was told that "We can't leave you with this problem." The problem was fixed before he left. I will definitely use this company again for plumbing needs.

Exceeded our expectations! I called at 12:30 on a Saturday about a leak in our basement. He was there by 3:00. Found it was our toilet on the first floor. He fixed it all quickly and efficiently. Explained in detail what happened and why it happened. Even explained the hum we hear in the house when the water turns off. Even liked our dog Bruno!

The problem occurred on a Saturday with house guests arriving shortly. Fred responded promptly. He does not charge a premium rates on Saturday and total charges were well within the typical range for this sort of job. The workmanship was first class. This was one of the best new contractor experiences I've had in a long time and the sort thing that makes me an Angie's List enthusiast.

The cracked pipe ended up being between the first and second floor where drain pipes from the upstairs bathrooms came together in a Y-joint. The house is 45 years old and these old plastic pipes eventually crack from flexing, etc. which is exactly what had happened. Fred had to cut 10 inch wide strips in the drywall in the kitchen and bathrooms walls and ceilings to get at the area to replace the leak. He added some rubber sleeves to the new Y-joints to allow for some flexing of the house so this would not happen in the future. When all was done, the repair was $2300 and I had to hire a drywall contractor for another $500 to fix the drywall, but Fred was upfront about the price, the extent of the damage that would have to be done for the repair, and the need to fix the drywall after he left. While it really stinks to have to cough up almost $3K to for a leaking pipe, that's the cost of owning a home build in the 1970's with cheap materials and I was very impressed with the work done by Fred and his same day responsiveness. At least the leak was noticed right away so we did not have any water or mold damage to deal with.

I contacted Fred by email first, as on his website, it says you can either call or email. But there was no response to my email for a couple of days, so I decided to call. Fred asked me to text him my address. He made an appointment to come to the house a couple of days later. He came on time, drilled a hole through the concrete block in the basement and installed a new faucet. He added a bleeder valve to the copper pipe and explained how I should bleed the pipe after turning off the inside valve before the cold winter months. Fred was pleasant and informative. He did a good job. It took about an hour and 15 minutes. To contact Fred, you might want to send him an email explaining the work needed, and include your phone number so he can call you back. Or send him a text that includes your address.
