We initially contacted LFC to redesign a half wall/counter in a basement kitchenette area so we could remove and replace an old refrigerator. Tony listened, assessed the situation and came up with a very creative and cost effective solution for our problem. They cut back the half wall and kept the counter by carefully cutting it and installing a hinge so it could swing up and down. To save on flooring costs, they used extra carpet and tile that we had and blended it in. We were so pleased that we had him come back out to look at the recurring rotten wood problem around our front door entryway and our garage door. Tony suggested cost effective, non-wood materials, and a custom design by his carpenter to preclude further water erosion. "Everything was simply unforgettable! I responded to an ad for Black Friday Special: name your price for the job with no reasonable offer refused! I emailed the company letting them know I wanted some rotten wood replaced on the window dormer and a ceiling repaired and painted. Mike said he would trust what and wanted and the price of $400.00. The carpenter and the painter arrived early. Mike arrived shortly and went over what needed to be done. I had purchased treated lumber so Mike purchased with receipt the correct wood. The carpenter quickly saw that more rotten wood had to be replaced than anticipated. The carpenter had to do wood cutting to frame and restore the dormer as well as insulate, caulk and prime the untreated wood. Needless to say, the handyman special turned out to be a skillful carpentry job. Mike, nevertheless kept the price at $400.00, which also included the plaster repair for the ceiling as well as painting the entire ceiling. I had been told in the past by two contractors that the ceiling job was complicated. Mike and his painter made the job uncomplicated and the result was simply great!"

"The work was exceptional. There was a language barrier, the installers spoke little English, however we stumbled along just fine. I did have 2 requests for corrections, one was a piece of wood that had chipped during install and the other correction involved the placement of wood at entrance to a room. The manager came to inspect my 2 complaints, then scheduled the installer to come out and correct the two problems by replacing the wood. The corrections were also exceptional, although it took almost a month to get them back out. The price was supposedly discounted because of a sale on hardwood, so I believe the price was reasonable. I will use United again for my flooring needs."

"Mr. Vasquez and I had an e-mail exchange to set up an appointment, but the loop was never closed.
I called the day of the service to see if they were coming, and was informed he did not have anyone working. Fortunately, when I told him of our e-mail exchange, he was able to find someone to perform the work.
He arrived within an hour of the originally requested time.
He actually removed more caulk than I realized was damaged, and neatly replaced it.
Also recommended how I could patch the one or two small places where the grout is thinning, as well as having all of the grout redone in about a year.
Overall I was pleased with the level and quality of service.

Let me previous by saying we had been 14 years trying to get the large dorm window in the center of the house trimmed and dry walled. We have had many carpenters look at the project. They eventually left saying, "They would send us an estimate,"  and were never heard from again.  Secondly, my husband, love him dearly, but he is a hard nosed perfectionist!!!! Having said that, John and his crew tackled a very difficult and challenging project with gusto. The end project is beautiful and my husband was dully  impressed.

John noticed that the garage doors had never been properly sealed by the original builder. Since we were replacing door casings with PVC anyways, John recommended doing the garage doors (two- two car doors, the side entrance door, and a third garage door on the second floor of the garage. 4 doors total.) We very much appreciate his professional observations and recommendations.

The employees of John's, ( it was the first day with the company for one of them) were hard working, dedicated, and extremely talented and knowledgeable.

John was honest it telling us that because of all the little projects we hired him for, the cost would run higher. The quality and peace of mind that after 14 years these projects were finally getting completed was worth it.

In summary, we were very please with John's honesty and professionalism. The office called us and kept us informed if they were going to be late or when coming. ( on one occasion, due to an emergency that prevented them from arriving on time one day, the staff called and apologized profusely.) John's employees demonstrated commitment, professionalism, and competency. We, especially my husband, were extremely please and impressed.
