"JR was very courteous and described every detail of the Whole House Safety Maintenance electric program. I purchased a 25yr old home and was unsure of the safety of several remodeled areas. JR checked every detail on a long lilst, tested all wall outlet and switch, GFCI outlets, electric panel, plus many more. I learned a lot. Definitely would recommend JR and Ashpaugh electric company"

"Aaron's was the first to answer my request and did so quickly! They called and answered my questions and gave me their prices over the phone so I could make my decision to use them. The owner arrived, diagnosed the problem very quickly and fixed it promptly. He was also very nice and easy to work with. I will definitely use Aaron's again for any electrical issues we have in the future!"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Pendant lights are very versatile, and you can almost always find one with your preferred style that accepts your preferred bulb. Today, many fixtures use LED bulbs, though it’s still completely possible to find one that uses halogen, fluorescent, or even old-school incandescent bulbs. The manual that comes with your light should tell what types of bulbs you can use with it.

It might seem tempting to use 14-gauge wires for your outlets, as they can run a little cheaper. But, when it comes to electrical work, it’s best not to cut costs less you overload your circuit. A 12-gauge wire will ensure that you’re protecting the outlet (and your circuit breaker) from any potential overloads that might incur, as it can handle a little more amplitude than a 14-gauge wire.

No. When applied properly, electrical tape is designed to be an insulating material with high resistance to electricity. It can reinforce electrical connections and act as a safeguard to help ensure the electrical current stays within its designated pathways. However, it’s important to note that it can break down over time and you should never use it as a replacement for electrical wire caps.

Rewiring an electric system in a house typically ranges between $2,000 and $9,000, but a simple project can cost as low as $1,500. More complex upgrades run $10,000 or higher. The price depends on the size of your home, how accessible the wiring is, the cost of materials, and local electrician fees.

Some portable cooktops are compatible with standard 120-volt outlets, but most induction (and electric) ranges and stoves need a dedicated 220- or 240-volt circuit and 40 to 50 amps to work. If you are replacing an old electric range with an induction one, you likely already have the proper outlet, but it’s worth checking with a local appliance installation company.
