Flo is a very talented carpenter and installed a new 16 foot wood banister to the lower level. He also repaired a number of the stair balusters, fixing them in position very nicely. Super efficient worker who is very talented. Would hire them again without hesitation."

He explained everything that he was going to be doing pre job start and answered my questions along the way. "They did a great job replacing and securing old drywall in our garage. They installed an electrical outlet which works perfectly but his suggestion, to make it easier, was to use BX which is not code in the area. Luckily I knew that because my parents would have gone with it unknowingly. I definitely wouldn’t hire them for carpentry work. We had a prehung front entry door put in and screen door reinstalled. We ended up having to have someone else come out and redo the job because they installed it so out of square that you could see daylight and the screen door wouldn’t close unless you pushed it with all your weight. They didn’t replace the interior trim or the piece of flooring they pulled out. They did a good job installing the peephole, mail slot and handle. Would recommend for small jobs but nothing too involved. Definitely not electric or carpentry."

"This is the third time we've hired DAL Builders. They previously rebuilt our front porch and gut rehabbed our kitchen. We highly recommend them for the quality of their construction work, project management and working relationship with clients. We have come to trust DAL with our old 1910 house, which presents unique, often confounding (at least to us), challenges. DAL does quality work while advising us about what needs replacing/rebuilding and what doesn't. For example, our basement had decent framing, so we kept it, which was a huge savings. We have a good working relationship with Tim Larkin, our project manager at DAL. If there's a problem during a project, we trust that we can work through it. Still, it always helps to be flexible and take responsibility for communication. We experienced some pandemic-related delays. Start dates can be a little unclear (they depend on the progress of other DAL projects), but once started, Tim moves the work along. Regarding cost, we could pay less for work of lower quality, which we would regret, and I'm sure we could pay a lot more for work of similar quality. Tim is sensitive to cost issues and advises on how to keep costs down. Overall, the value is excellent, and we've been happy with the results. DAL's carpentry work has been outstanding -- our front porch and back stairs are beautiful, and our neighbor still raves about the plumb lines in our kitchen. Our newly rehabbed basement is fantastic; with Tim’s encouragement, we exposed three windows that had been covered up, including two under a porch/bay window. They let in a lot of light and are very attractive! Project management is strong overall. We appreciate the detailed estimates DAL provides. DAL will deliver on those details so be sure the estimates specify what you want. We've gotten to know DAL's subcontractors -- plumber, electrician, drywallers & painters, roofers, etc. They are all very good at what they do. Fostering good communication with this only helps. We really like working with Tim Larkin. He gives us good ideas, is responsive to problems, and is flexible around the needs of the project, which can change. He’ll keep the project on track, manage the subcontractors, etc. I try to keep track of and communicate about details with Tim -- this helps when a project is extensive or has multiple parts, as this most recent one did. It takes a team to pull everything off!"

"We did a remodel of our Kitchen and Master bath. The kitchen was a big project, taking out a wall and removing the back door, enlarging our bay to accommodate sliding doors. New countertops, cabinets and an island were installed. Tile was removed from the kitchen/ foyer and replaced with hardwood floors. They gave us a time frame for 4 months. We added on painting, carpet installation. tiling a hallway and new vanity and toilet in the half bath. They accommodated the extra work and completed it in a timely manner, without interruption for other jobs. We could not be more pleased with the work. Everything turned out beautifully. Terry, Jody and Brian were a pleasure to work with. They were reliable, on time and cleaned up daily. Jody is a perfectionist and if something wasn't done right it would be redone to meet his standards. They were helpful with design and handled every add on. They did not ask for money up front and kept cost updated frequently."

"We decided to remove the old deck in our back yard and build a new larger one with a pergola. Jim did a great job from start to end. Before starting, he helped us deciding the material by providing quotes using cedar and composite. We decided to use cedar for both deck and pergola, and we love how it came out. Jim was very responsive during the design phase. So, we could finalize the design and start construction. At that point we had a tight schedule because of guests visiting during summer. Jim and his team worked hard and managed to be within schedule. The work was done very carefully, with great attention to details and we are very pleased by the outcome."

"Outstanding service.  Installed on time as the order stated.  We used them several months ago to do our outdated reach in closets and they did a great job.  We decided to contact Rich the designer again to see what he could do with our basic shelving in our laundry room. He asked a few questions and emailed us the design that night.  No pressure sales and presented to us what he could build and we got to pick and chose what we wanted completed.  The day of the installation went really well.  Steve came out and installed the shelving.  He also did the install on the initial project we did for our closets.  Quality instal with absolutely no issues.  We would use them again, but we have ran out of closets and storages areas.  I would recommend them to my family and friends.
