"I purchased the caulking and drywall repair deals from JT Contractors and I am so pleased with the service. Chuck and Richard were consummate professionals in their approach and their demeanor. They arrived on-time, listened attentively to what I wanted performed, asked questions for clarification on caulk color, and went about completing the work. The tubs, sinks and walls look absolutely beautiful. I will definitely use JT Contractors again. In fact, I requested an estimate for some interior painting and I look forward to enjoying the results of that work as well.

"I am so grateful to Grandview Construction for our beautiful, new kitchen and master shower! They also painted our entire first floor including the trim. Our experience with Jeremy and his wonderful crew was A+mazing! Their workmanship was excellent, and Jeremy was very communicative and responsive throughout the entire process. The crew was friendly, professional and clearly experts at what they do. One of them has almost 30 years of experience in the industry. Jeremy and his crew provided many helpful details about the project from start to finish and was quick to let us know if any issues arose. When they had to make any adjustments they explained the reasons and were very patient in answering all of our questions and since this was our very first kitchen remodel we had a lot of questions. The project was completed on time and stayed within the very fair competitive estimate he gave us in the beginning, and we could not be happier with the gorgeous finished product. We will work with them on any other project we might do on our home, and I would recommend Grandview Construction without any reservation to anyone who is looking for a dependable and honest general contractor to work on their house."

Customers say: Super punctual

"When Angelo said he would be at the work sight every day he meant it.  He and ALL his help were always on time and professional.  I have never had luck with contractors before but Angelo was always there for us with any questions we had.  He made this project go very smoothly and timely.
I would highly recommend Angelo to do YOUR next job.
Thanks Angelo,
Karen & Al.

Unfinished Carpentry questions, answered by experts

Costs depend on furniture type, size, complexity, and whether additional modifications are needed.

Yes, walls on the top floor can be load-bearing if stacked on the floor’s foundation.

Baseboards don’t have to be nailed into studs. However, nailing them into studs adds to their stability. When studs aren’t available, you can secure them with drywall nails directly into the drywall and adhesive. Always aim to nail into studs, especially in high-traffic or impact-prone areas.

There are approximately 5.33 board feet in a 2x4. You can use the board foot calculator in this article to easily find the answer. A 2x4 is 2 inches of thickness by 4 inches of width, so you need to find the length, with 8 feet being the most common. You’d use the calculator here to multiply 2 times 4 times 8, and then divide by 12, arriving at a total of 5.33 board feet.

Converting a carport into a garage can vary in difficulty depending on its configuration, the condition of the foundation or slab, and its location relative to the house. The process has a lot in common with a home addition, but you can often skip non-essential finishes like fine flooring, trim work, or even drywall and HVAC. The conversion requires experience with drywall, insulation, and other building materials to ensure it’s done safely and correctly. While it might be possible for a DIYer with the proper tools and skills to do the work, it is a complicated and potentially dangerous job. If you’re new to basic construction, it's best to leave this project to the professionals.
