"Joel and Will are electrician superstars in my humble opinion. They worked efficiently to install a light fixture in our entryway and to check out our electrical circuits. We're very pleased with the service they provided and they also showed themselves to be really nice people that we were happy to have in our home. Also, the lady who sets up appointments, Tracy I believe, is an absolute sweetheart who treats customers like they're the most important people in the world. Their service fees are more than reasonable. We won't use anyone else for electrical issues."

"Outstanding. I noticed the other day that my front porch light had dropped out of the recessed receptacle and was hanging by its wires. I quickly contacted several electricians from Angie's list and only heard back from two of them. Both were pleasant and helpful. One could not get to me for about 7-9 days. The other (Phaze Electric) had me on their schedule the next day. Jerome showed up early and quickly assessed what was needed. He obtained the necessary part from Lowe's and was back in a flash to remove the old housing and install the new one. I also used Phaze Electric a couple of years ago to hang ceiling fans on my back porch and they did an excellent job then, too. Phaze Electric will be the company I call in the future for all my electrical needs. I trust them to do a great job at a reasonable price."

"

Did not go well at all. the owner initially quoted $2500 to $2800 for the total job but then ended up charging me $4100.

The lead electrician that was sent to my home  reported wrong hours to the owner and I was charged for them. When I brought it to the owners attention he confronted me and the employee about it. The employee would not admit to the difference in hours. I told the owner that I had text to prove the hour differences.  I provided text proof of hours and the owner did nothing to rectify the billing differences. He claims he did but  he did not. He just added additional hours so it looked as if he fixed the hour discrepancy. The employee admitted to me of working sick and less hours than what he submitted.

The electricians installed a new exhaust fan in the bathroom during demo and did not secure it. It fell into the demo pile and was thrown away. The owner Bill charged me for another fan of $175.

The lead electrician worked very slow and had to have some his work reworked by the helper.

Between the hour discrepancy and the slow work due to being sick this cost me at least 6 hours worth of work. At $100 an hour that is $600.

This is the worst service I have ever had from a skilled tradesman. In the end this owner definitely over charged me at least $775. Be very cautious if you use this company. Get quotes in writing and VERIFY every minute they are in your home.

Electrical questions, answered by experts

In Port Orange, outdoor electrical systems—especially pool pumps, dock wiring, and landscape lighting—often require attention due to salt air and humidity. Kitchens and master bathrooms may need upgrades to handle modern appliances. Main panels and attic wiring can deteriorate faster in the Florida heat. After storms, it’s important to inspect surge protectors and outdoor fixtures for damage, particularly in waterfront neighborhoods.

Helpful?

New homeowners in Port Orange should prioritize surge protector installation and generator-ready setups to handle frequent storms. Upgrading the electrical panel, adding GFCI outlets in wet areas, and hardwiring smoke detectors are essential for safety. Consider installing ceiling fans and outdoor lighting for comfort and security. Always verify that your electrical system meets local code requirements, especially regarding AFCI protection and dedicated kitchen circuits.

Helpful?

In Port Orange, smart home upgrades—like automated lighting and thermostats—are increasingly popular for energy efficiency. Outdoor living enhancements, such as lanai and patio wiring, pool and spa lighting, and outdoor kitchen circuits, are in high demand. Many residents are preparing for solar panel installations and EV charging. Hurricane-ready features, including automatic transfer switches and weather-resistant equipment, are also trending among local homeowners.

Helpful?

When hiring an electrician in Port Orange, look for professionals experienced with local building styles and Florida’s electrical codes. Confirm they obtain the necessary permits and carry insurance that covers storm-related risks. Experience with generator installation and storm preparation is valuable. Request local references and review their reputation within the Port Orange community to ensure you’re choosing a reliable, knowledgeable contractor.

Helpful?

In Port Orange, flickering lights during humid weather, rust or corrosion on electrical panels, and GFCI outlets that frequently trip are early warning signs. If you notice warm or discolored outlet covers, persistent burning odors, or frequent circuit breaker trips—especially in older homes—these issues can quickly escalate. Homes with two-prong outlets or suspected aluminum wiring should be inspected promptly to prevent major electrical repairs.
