"James was very professional and great to work with! He returned my calls promptly and had a lot of patience with all of my questions. The installation was quality work and the roof installers were great at cleaning up as they progressed. I didnâ t have to worry about permitting because Raincoat Roofing took care of everything. I collected 3 bids for my roof project and this company ranked as the most affordable and professional. I highly recommend Raincoat Roofing for roof installations!"

"Worthmann Roofing installed a new metal roof on our home. There was a part that needed additional work but unfortunately, it rained before it could be completed and some damage was done. Worthmann Roofing FULLY STOOD behind their warranty and repaired the affected. Additionally, I would like to mention that the restoration company, Morales Restoration, was SO good. They cleaned, mopped and left our home clean and as good as of it had never happened. Last but not least, a special “Thank you” to Joey with Worthmann Roofing for your guidance in getting this done. We truly do appreciate it!"

"Proffesional and great customer service. Tom Scarbrough the project manager walked through the entire process start to finish. Tom is what customer service is all about. He made getting a roof a pleasant experience. He explained the claim process and even showed up the day the insurance claims adjuster conducted the inspection. Done in a day and a half and looks flawless. I was updated throughout the process. Thomas (Supervisor) and Roofing crew did an outstanding job on the installation and final cleanup of the yard before departure. Without a doubt will recommend to Neighbors, Friends and Family."

"This company is amazing I had to have my roof replaced after hurricane Irma and the workmanship was exceptional. Zuzette and Oziel were always available if I had any questions or concerns. The crew arrived early in the morning and had it completed in 1 day these guys were amazing, courteous and they cleaned everything after they were done, you would not have guessed any work had been done NO mess. When they picked up the dumpster I didn't even realize it they were so quiet. I would definitely will recommend this company. They are amazing from start to finish. Thank you Pro Roofing"

Roofing questions, answered by experts

Venting a gas water heater out of the roof is preferable in most cases. Heated exhaust gases naturally rise, so a vertical vent pipe is efficient. If you’re trying to vent through a pipe exiting a wall, the angle of the pipe may be more horizontal than vertical, making the venting system less effective. If you go through a wall, you may need to add a fan to ensure a successful expulsion of the gases outdoors.

A roof replacement can take anywhere from one to 14 days. For most homes, a full replacement that includes tearing off old materials takes about one to two days, though the average project can last up to 12 days. The exact timeline depends on several factors, including the roof's size and complexity, the type of roofing material, the crew size, and weather conditions. Certain materials take longer to install; for example, metal roofs can take seven to 14 days because the material is more difficult to work with than asphalt shingles, wood, or tile. A re-roofing project, where new shingles are installed over old ones, can take half the time or less. It's also important to factor in the time needed to obtain necessary permits. A professional roofing contractor will typically complete the job faster than a DIY approach.

Architectural shingles and impact-resistant shingles aren’t mutually exclusive, which means some architectural shingles are impact-resistant shingles. Architectural shingles are thicker and more durable than standard 3-tab shingles, and they become even stronger when they also have high impact resistance and wind resistance ratings. The most durable shingles for areas with extreme weather are architectural or luxury shingles that have a Class-4 impact resistance and a Class-H wind resistance that can stand up to winds reaching 150 mph.

The roof overhang, also known as the eaves, does count as part of the roof’s square footage because it must be covered with the roofing material. The overhang is one of the reasons why you can’t base your roof's square footage on the square footage of the house. The roof square footage must also account for the pitch of the roof as well as the eaves.

The best kind of tarp for a roof is one that will stand up to the elements, weather, and sun. Viny roof tarps are known for their durability and resistance to water, tears, and mold—making these tarps a good choice for use in winter conditions and the summer sun. Polyethylene tarps are also quite durable and waterproof.
