"This is my second time using them & the service man was very thorough. I had been wanting to put in a UV light and other companies wanted over a thousand dollars to buy & install it and they charged half of that. My air conditioner is working so cold now And I will continue to be using cooling advisors. Great company, great service."

"I called Honest Air and received prompt same day service. Sean spent a great deal of time to make sure our unit was properly fixed. He needed a part that he did not have with him, so he made sure he came back the very next morning to complete the job. He is very knowledgeable and professional. We appreciate his dedication. He explained everything to us and explained the labor cost categories."

"My initial contact with Jon and Chris on May 26th was to see if my existing unit 16 year old A/C could be repaired. Jon and Chris were knowledgeable and pleasant as well as professional.  They were able to share with me the many issues I already knew were occurring with my current unit. We discussed cost and options to pay and sealed the deal. I am pleased that a 5 year maintenance plan for checkup's twice a year is included. The next week Cesar and Gerardo arrived with the new unit. It took at least 8 hours to install so it was an all day event. Cesar was very personable and worked hard at installing the handler in my very small space. Gerardo installed the outside unit and the new thermostat. The unit works very well so far, cools very well and is amazingly quiet.  I was impressed with all four of the men who represented Amtek.  I would also like to mention that about a week after the unit was installed I was solicited by the same company to purchase a new unit. Perhaps leads could be better scrubbed. "

"Technician arrived promptly. Clean and courteous. Presented estimate for work which, if wife wasn't home, would have refused and sent him on his way. Absolutely ridiculous cost to install fan switches (which I provided) into existing switch boxes, about $185.00 EACH. Lesson learned. Will look around further in the future if any other work is ever needed. Never paid even close to this amount anywhere else I've lived. Last place, 2 counties away only charged $10.00 each switch when I had the same work done. Also only paid $60.00 per fan to be hung. That came to $360.00 plus $60.00 for a $420.00 total. Paid $2461.74 this time. Only 2 years between these jobs, so I don't think the cost of living has gone up so drastically in this time frame. Satisfied with job but not with price. Never again!"

"I called Swell A/C for an estimate and they scheduled for the next morning. Chris arrived at the agreed upon time and was very thorough when checking out my existing a/c. He gave me a very fair and detailed estimate and we accepted his proposal at that time. We set up our install appointment which was in two days. They arrived at 8:00 AM and were finished at 12:00 noon. We were very happy with everything and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Swell Air Conditioning to anyone who needs their services!"

"The hot water heater that went bad was in the attic and it was my preference to install the new one in the attic. Other plumbers said it couldn't be done because of new heater diameters. J-T rep James said he could find a heater that would fit and did it. It took a few days to schedule it but when the day came the install went perfectly. James and his assistant were very professional, courteous, and on time. They cleaned up the job site when done to the point that you would never know they had been there, except that I now have hot water."

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

You can save money on heating oil through a combination of improving home efficiency and smart purchasing strategies.

Home Efficiency and Usage:

  • Improve Insulation: Ensure your home, especially the basement and attic, is well-insulated and sealed against drafts to prevent heat leakage.

  • Manage Your Thermostat: Use a properly calibrated and programmable thermostat. Lower the temperature by a few degrees, particularly when you are away from home or asleep.

Purchasing Strategies:

  • Buy in the Off-Season: Order heating oil during the summer months when prices are generally at their lowest. This strategy is most effective if you have a large primary tank or a separate storage tank to accommodate bulk deliveries.

  • Consider a Delivery Contract: Some companies offer contracts with a set price for the term. This can lead to savings if market prices for oil increase, but you might pay more if prices drop.

Yes, government incentives and programs are available to encourage energy-efficient upgrades in many regions. These incentives may include tax credits, rebates, grants, and low-interest loans for homeowners who invest in energy-efficient improvements such as HVAC system upgrades, insulation, and efficient windows. The availability and specific details of these incentives can vary by location, so check with your local government or utility company to explore your options.

The best time to buy home heating oil is in the summer when the demand is lowest, as the prices are usually lower. However, waiting until the summer to buy is often unavoidable unless you install a separate storage tank. If you have the space for a second tank, you can expect to pay between $1,000 and $4,000 for the oil tank replacement or installation, depending on the capacity and location. You could quickly recuperate these costs, though, by stocking up on heating oil in the summer and avoiding deliveries in the winter when prices are highest.

Boilers are equipped with multiple safety features to ensure safe operation. These include pressure relief valves to prevent overpressure, temperature high-limit switches to avoid overheating, and flame failure safety devices in gas boilers to cut off the gas supply if the flame goes out unexpectedly. Low water cutoffs prevent operation with insufficient water levels, and pressure gauges help monitor pressure levels. Ventilation and flue systems prevent the buildup of harmful gasses. Boilers often feature error code systems for automatic shutdown during malfunctions and gas leak detection for safety. Regular maintenance is crucial to ensure these safety features function correctly.

Always consult your manual for specific pressure numbers. Many expansion tanks come pre-pressurized at a specific PSI range, anywhere from 12 to 40 PSI, designed for a range of home boilers. You should not have to pressurize an expansion tank yourself, only the boiler system. If your system has a tank that needs to be manually pressurized, this is generally a job for professionals and their tools.
