"This company has amazed me beyond expectations! From the moment I called them till the moment they finished with the fence, everything was well done and came out beautifully. "Daniel the salesman was professional and courteous. He gave a projected timeframe for our fence installation but that it could change due to weather and material. My main complaint was with the office. They were with terrible in communicating any delays to us. The saving grace was the installation team (Ryan and crew - 5 stars) their work was top notch. We have small dogs, and they took the time to make sure there were no opening's that our dogs could get out. They were able to start and finish up the same day. Our fence looks awesome and have gotten compliments from several of our neighbors. Great job......."

"Overall installation went really well. Karl constantly shows ingenuity on any project he works on. He seems to be able to look at a picture and easily re-create it. For example: I handed him 2 newel posts a 8 foot piece of base molding, an 8 foot 5" wide piece of MDF, some bead board, a side panel and a base kitchen cabinet... and he built a beautiful kitchen island. Bottom line- you give him the materials and the idea and he will bring it to life. On top of everything else, Karl is sincere, honest and shows up as promised. He is definitely the exception among your usual lot of South Florida contractors.

"My experience with Alpha Fence Company, its owner Bill Hartman, and all of its workers was one of the best experiences with a home contractor that I have ever had. The many reasons for this include the following:
1. From the time I first met the owner, Bill Hartman, until the completion of my fence he was outstanding. He responded
quickly to my request for an estimate and it was, by far, the best of several I had received. He patiently waited for my HOA
to approve the fence which did not come until December 19. Nevertheless, he scheduled the completion of the fence
to occur before Christmas. On December 24th my two labradoodles had a fenced-in yard.
2. I was impressed by the workmanship and speed of the installers. They began on Monday the 23rd and finished in
two days. They worked steadily and meticulously, and when the job was completed, cleaned up all materials. They
were simply the best.
3. The quality of the materials used for my fence were superior. No shortcuts.
4. Even when the job was over his secretary called to inform me that $250 of permit money was going to be returned to
me. She was great.
5. All in all this was a great experience made even better by the professionalism and warmth of all of the
persons of Alpha Fence.

"Called Gulfstream and the estimator came out within a few days. I wanted to have accordion shutters installed and to add a screen enclosure and storm door to the front entryway. The estimator made diagrams and gave me a price which was below what I had been told it would cost. After getting HOA approval, I called back to get the job going. The estimator came back, we confirmed the proposal, including a custom screen door, and I made the deposit. Permitting took about three weeks. Once the permit was issued a technician came out and took exact measurements. Manufacturing the panels and door took about three weeks. Installation crew arrived on time and were meticulous with their work including taking care not to trample shrubs and plants. They communicated throughout the process and cleaned up afterwards including hauling away my old storm door. From start to finish everyone I dealt with at Gulfstream were professional and courteous. I now have a beautiful enclosed front entry and shutters on all windows, including the triple sliding glass doors on the patio.

Fencing questions, answered by experts

You have several options for anchoring a temporary fence to keep it from falling down. Sandbags can be used as a standard weight, but they may blow away or fail in strong winds and inclement weather. Spikes and bolts are a cost-effective and easy-to-install alternative, but drilling can be difficult if the ground is frozen, too soft, or too hard. Another option is wind braces, which should be bolted into the ground to withstand turbulent wind; however, like spikes, they can be challenging to install in very soft or hard ground.

The legal implications of installing barbed wire fencing will vary from city to city. You should check your local regulations to see if barbed wire fencing is allowed, and what restrictions exist. For instance, some municipalities might require that your fence be a certain height and a certain distance from your home.

A silt fence should be buried in a trench that is 6 to 12 inches deep. A depth of at least 6 to 8 inches is necessary to prevent water and sediment from running underneath the fence. A deeper trench, up to 12 inches, provides better anchoring during wet and windy weather. To ensure proper installation, look for a red line on the silt fence fabric, which often indicates the correct burial depth. Always adhere to local guidelines and regulations; a professional contractor will be familiar with these requirements.

There are pros and cons to vinyl fencing. The drawbacks are that it can be expensive up front compared to options like chain-link fencing and that it’s vulnerable to fading. The material is difficult to repair without replacing entire panels or the whole fence, and you can’t paint over vinyl to change the color. However, this material is impressively durable and easy to maintain, making it a good choice for many homes.

The best wood for fence posts are redwood, cedar, and pressure-treated pine. Wood posts made from these materials will typically lasts between 15 and 30 years, depending on the specific type you choose and your local climate. With proper care and maintenance, a fence post made of these materials can withstand most weather conditions.
