"Rick takes great pride in doing an artistic, and great job. He worked hard to deliver precisely that for us. We were looking for a beautiful, artistic solution to our edging around a tree, and he accomplished more than we could have hoped for. It fits in beautifully with the other landscaping we have been doing. Our only regret is that we don't have another place for him to do...we love what he created, and it was well worth the cost."

"I couldn’t be happier with the work completed by Masterpiece Land Builders Corp. From the beginning, their team was professional, punctual, and extremely detail-oriented. They transformed my property by grading, leveling, and compacting the entire area with precision, leaving everything clean and perfectly prepared. The quality of their workmanship exceeded my expectations. They took the time to do the job correctly, communicated throughout the project, and treated my property with care and respect. It’s not easy to find contractors who combine professionalism, honesty, and outstanding craftsmanship the way they do. I highly recommend Masterpiece Land Builders Corp to anyone looking for excavation, grading, site preparation, or land improvement services. They truly take pride in their work, and it shows in the final result. I will definitely use them again for future projects. Thank you for an excellent job!"

"I hired Brandon White to create a landscape plan for the entirety of our property in Frenchman's Creek. He completed a beautifu plan with extensive detail and plant descriptions for us, at reasonable cost and in a timely fashion. This also included a lighting plan. Brandon allowed us to provide input on plants that we particularly admired, and it was an efficiant iterative friendly process. We felt listened to and the plan reflected our tastes and desires. Subsequently Brandon oversaw the installation of the entire plan, which was a large project encompassing front and back yards, side yards, lighting, pathways and tile. He was on site and actively directed the installation. After it was all installed and matured a bit, he visited to tweak the install with a couple of alternatives where plants were struggling. His follow up and after-project servicing has been a big appeal, and we remain in touch today. I highly recmmend Brandon. He is thorough, reasonable, and easy to work with. He will not leave you abandoned at the end of a project, and his professionalism was evident throughout the process."

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

How much 4 yards of dirt will cover depends on how deep you want the soil to be. In general, a yard of dirt will cover 324 square feet for a 1-inch depth or 100 square feet for a 3-inch depth. Therefore, you can expect 4 yards to cover between 400 and 1,296 square feet if you keep your soil depth between 1 and 3 inches.

The best landscape edging tool depends on you and your needs. For homeowners who are looking for a budget-friendly edging material, plastic might be the best option for them. However, homeowners who want a low-maintenance option might opt for concrete or brick. Since there are loads of gardening edging ideas, decide what factors (maintenance, style, or budget) are most important to you to help you narrow your choices.

Yes, it is possible to add too little mulch. Anything less than 1 inch will likely result in too little coverage around your plants, allowing weeds to grow through and minimizing the positive effects that a deeper bed of mulch would have, like maintaining proper soil moisture and insulating the ground.

If you are xeriscaping a lawn from scratch, your best bet for preparing the lawn is to work with a xeriscaping specialist in your area. The most common first step to making the transformation, however, will be to remove the turfgrass from your lawn. The subsequent steps will often include amending the soil to support new plants and installing low-drip or drip irrigation systems.

In most cases, wait three to five days to repot or relocate a plant from a greenhouse or nursery. That way, your plant has time to recover from any shock during the move and adapt to the conditions in and around your home. Some hearty plants may not need as long, and delicate plants might need several weeks. You should ask the professional at your nursery for a recommended timeline. Consider asking about an initial watering schedule to help stimulate root growth and promote a healthy plant.
