"The contracted the work off to a third party. Jon took longer than expected. The windows was installed pretty good from the looks. Communication could have been better with knowing the job will take longer and what types of trims I wanted for the windows. As the contractor that was hired for this job by this company. Did a good job with putting up decent trim. As for the new windows they look great. I purchased the myself and hired sentri homes to install them. I will need to have a my siding on my house redone to be closer to the new windows so the gaps are not so obvious. That was not expected at first. But from old storm windows and not knowing how they were put in originally. There was some unknown things that was learned from the job being completed. I will have the siding of the house slightly done to match really good for what I wanted later on. My only concern is better communication with sentri homes. Overall they were great when I did talk to them."

"Once project and price was agreed upon and papers signed, the project moved very quickly. Roof was shingled, and a few plywood replacements were done in two days. In their haste to remove and re-shingle, black spots were left on the sides of the house, but they cleaned that off once the project had been completed. They also readjusted some work on the porch were some installation caused nails to show throw on the siding. Only real issues we had, is that a better sweep for roofing nails could have been done on the ground. I was able to walk my perimeter and find a handful of the nails by eye site and my wife found one in her shoe. The second issue was that a porch light cover was snapped off, wife and I are certain it was done during installation, but we did not take pictures of exterior before work to show and the individual who we talked with never got back with us, as he had indicated he had taken pictures himself and would check."

"I would highly recommend Gable Carpentry. They were prompt courteous and did an excellent job. I needed siding repaired on one area of my house and the repair is seamless!! They contacted me immediately and went out of their way to work with my schedule. The entire process from me reaching out through home advisor to job completion took less than a week."

"I called Panda contractors and was given a cell phone number to Brad, the person in charge of scheduling and doing estimates. I told him what I needed and he set a time to look at the job. From start to finish Brad let me know when and what was being done. The whole process went smoothly and better than expected. The siding repair looks wonderful and if I ever need construction work done in the future I'll definitely call Panda. Thank you Brad. Well done!"

"okay, but they insisted we pull down our flood lights, which caused us to have to reinstall, not an easy task... placed a downspout in a spot we didn't talk about during estimate - installer said the estimator made a mistake, that it had to go in the "lowest spot." agreed to this, but the downspout was installed next to the house (in the middle), causing flow of water to go directly up against house in a low-lying area, totally depleting the reason we had them installed in the first place. had to call them back and they installed a 12' extension out to the side of the house on the ground, so now we have to pick it up and mow around it all the time. could have been handled much better. not happy with this. communication was poor, at best. now, we have an area at the front of the house that is started to grow mildew where we never had a problem before, concerned that the gutter job is causing it. we've lived here 10 years and not had this problem until the gutter installation. house was new when we moved in. wondering about their knowledge of proper installation. the guttering itself looks good, good quality materials used. just not sure if these people are as educated as they should be.? :("

"Mark included the bathroom ceiling trim and the front door threshold/planing/sweep in the course of his interior paint job of my house. His quote for the paint job was already the lowest I had found, and he included these extras for no additional charge (not even the cost of materials). I recently bought this historical home but am not very handy, so it was reassuring to me that the person I hired to paint could handle miscellaneous other jobs that arose during the course of painting, saving me the hassle and expense of finding and paying other contractors.
When he scraped and prepped the exterior of my house prior to painting, Mark found a couple of rotten boards. He located matching lap siding and charged me a very fair $300 to replace these. Then a chemical paint stripping product that Mark was using on large areas of the siding failed--in fact, it left the paint and underlying wood in worse shape than it was in when he started. Mark pursued the product vendor vigorously. We met with regional distribution and manufacturer reps at my house who tried other products to strip the paint and mitigate the damage caused by the first product--but none worked. So Mark then filed a liability claim with the product distributor. This process added several weeks to the job, but Mark stood by his commitment to the job and promised I would not pay a cent for the resolution. The distributor finally agreed to a settlement to pay for replacement siding for the damaged areas. Mark replaced the siding on about 1/3 of the house, plus some window and door trim in affected areas. The areas he replaced look great--a basically perfect match to the existing siding, and (of course) a nice smooth surface for the new exterior paint job.
I was very impressed both with Mark's versatility and skill and also with his tenacity in getting a resolution at no cost to me. Although the delays were frustrating to both Mark and me, they were unavoidable given the unforeseeable damage caused by the paint stripper. But Mark kept me fully informed during the entire process. He did very fine work, and I would not hesitate to call him again if I needed other siding or carpentry."

Siding repair costs $870 for an average homeowner. This cost could be as little as $75 or as much as $16,000, depending on your existing siding material, repair type, and damage level. For example, for basic siding repair, you can expect to pay between $2 and $16 per square foot for materials and labor. However, if you have extensive damage or for more expensive materials like stucco, that price jumps to $4 to $50 per square foot.
The cost to replace siding for your home is $11,450 on average. But siding replacement can cost up to $40,000 or more, with the largest expense being your chosen material. For example, for a 2,000 square feet house, the average cost of siding materials such as vinyl is between $9,000 and $14,000. Wood siding is a little more expensive, ranging from $16,000 to $26,000. However, for the same size house using brick or stone, that cost jumps to $18,000 to $100,000. When choosing to replace your home’s siding, it’s essential to consider your climate and longevity.
The length of time your siding will last will depend on the siding material and your climate. It’s important to remember that proper routine maintenance, like twice-a-year cleaning, is vital to help extend the longevity of your siding and to avoid replacement before its expected lifetime ends.
Vinyl, aluminum, and wood siding lasts 20 to 40 years
Fiber cement siding lasts around 50 years
Brick and stone veneer siding lasts at least 100 years
There are several different types of siding available to give you the home exterior of your dreams. Each type of siding has its own cost factors, estimated lifespan, and benefits to fit your needs. Some common siding options include:
Vinyl
Wood
Aluminum
Fiber cement
Brick
Stone and stone veneer
Stucco
If you want to stay environmentally friendly, wood siding is natural, recyclable, and renewable. However, if you’re looking for a durable siding option that is more resistant to dents and scratches, brick or stone siding is your best choice.
There are certain circumstances where your homeowners insurance might cover the expense of siding repair. If you have siding damage due to extreme weather, a natural disaster, a fire, or a hail storm, your policy might fully or partially pay for the repair or replacement cost. However, most policies will not help pay for repairs due to general wear and tear. It’s best to review your homeowners insurance policy for full details on what may be covered.
