"This is the second time we have them do repairs on our roof. We wouldn’t hire anyone else. They also did a repair on our Mother’s roof repairing a leak that no other roofers were able to detect."

"I highly recommend Tiger Team Roofing. They recently replaced the roof on my home and I am very pleased with the results. They were very professional from start to finish. They guided me and kept me informed through every step of the process. They were always happy to answer my questions and Gary (the owner) made sure that all my concerns were promptly addressed. Tiger Team Roofing is an excellent company. I will turn to them for any roofing work in the future and I will refer them to my family and friends."

"IT WENT AMAZING I WAS WORRIED I HAD TO REPLACE MY FLAT ROOF. THE ROOFER KENNY CAME OVER THE DAY AFTER I CALLED HE FOUND THE PROBLEM RIGHT AWAY. NO NEED TO REPLACE ROOF. THE DAY AFTER IT WAS REPAIRED NEAT AND PROFESSIONAL WORK. NO MORE NEED FOR A BUCKET IN MY FLORIDA ROOM. SAVED ALOT OF MONEY MOST ROOFERS WOULD WANT TO REPLACE THE ROOF TO MAKE MORE MONEY. VERY HONEST COMPANY WILL USE AGAIN"

"VL Roofing gave me a professional quote with a very reasonable price on the same day I put in a request at homeadvisor.com (angi.com). I accepted their proposal via email. Julio and Orlando showed up bright and early the very next day and by noon the job was done. I could not be more please. They are professional, courteous, and went above and beyond to ensure the roof was fixed and looked like new. If you need your roof repaired, I would recommend them to my neighbors and family."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

The length of time you can leave a leaking roof before it causes damage will vary greatly depending on a variety of factors. The best approach when it comes to roof leaks is to play it safe and fix it as soon as possible, whether you take the DIY route or hire a roofing professional to inspect, diagnose, and repair the problem.

Properly maintained roof decking can last between 20 and 30 years on average, though it varies based on a few factors. Mainly, the quality of roof decking materials and environmental conditions have the most impact on longevity. You can extend its lifespan by regularly inspecting your roof and making repairs as necessary.

You can use silicone caulk around the upper lip of your roof vent boot to seal it temporarily, or you can slide a repair sleeve over the roof vent and old vent boot to stop air and water leaks temporarily. However, these aren’t permanent solutions, so you should always hire a professional to come out and replace the roof vent boot for a long-lasting fix and peace of mind.

Mansard roofs are still popular in Paris, where they originated, and throughout France. In the United States, you can find mansard roofs on some older buildings in Manhattan. The architecture also appears on some Victorian and Colonial-style homes. There are pockets of homes with mansard roofs in New York City and Los Angeles, where they were once more popular than they are today.

As with any roofing material, there are benefits and drawbacks to consider before installing roll roofing. On the plus side, roll roofing is budget-friendly, lightweight, and comparatively easy to install. It is also ideal for low-sloped roofs and lasts around 10 years. The cons of roll roofing, however, include its low durability compared to roofing materials, restricted color choices, and low ROI.

Pros:

  • Low-cost

  • Lightweight

  • Cut to size

  • Easy and quick installation

  • Designed for low-sloped roofs

  • Waterproofs your roof for an average of 10 years

  • Easy to purchase and transport

Cons:

  • Less durable than asphalt shingles

  • More prone to cracks and tears

  • Short life span

  • Not as many color or style choices

  • Not as aesthetically pleasing as shingles, wood, or clay tiles

  • Not preferred for a higher home resale value
