"We purchased impact windows and doors to replace our old windows and 2 french doors, from Locktight and we couldn't be happier with the entire process and products. The windows and doors are everything we hoped they would be. Communication with Locktight has been topnotch throughout; and, the removal of the old windows and installation of the new windows was quick, incredibly professional and impeccably neat. The windows themselves are beautiful, high quality and nearly soundproof. They have improved the appearance of the exterior of our house significantly. We highly recommend Locktight to anyone considering replacing/upgrading their windows and/or doors."

"I spoke with Scott who confirmed the appointment and was very professional. I also asked if his company repaired windows and he confirmed that they also offer that type of service.  He arrived on-time on April 27th and performed additional repairs outside the scope of the original sliding door special of $120.00.  After repairing the sliding glass door, the door continued to make a grinding noise when it was opened.  He suggested inserting a new stainless steel track which worked like a charm! I am very pleased with Scott and Carbonneaus Home Repair.  He was honest and gave me a fair price to replace the balance rods on 2 single hung windows in the home so I asked him to go ahead and repair the windows while he was at the house.
I would definitely call upon this company in the future and I would absolutely give them an "A" for the services rendered.

"Great service from John Barnes Window Tinting. John came out for the estimate and gave us a lot of information about window tinting and recommended the best film for our window needs. John’s pricing was very good compared to other companies we got estimates from. His installer was great. He is obviously has a lot of experience and did an excellent Job on the windows. He left my home as clean as he found it. We are extremely satisfied with our purchase and the service."

"Absolutely thrilled with the window tinting service! The professional tinted 9 windows in my house flawlessly. The quality of work was exceptional, and the attention to detail was evident in every window. Not only does my house look fantastic, but the temperature inside is noticeably cooler. The entire process was smooth, from the initial consultation to the final inspection. Highly recommend this window tinter for anyone looking for top-notch service and results. Five stars!"

Windows questions, answered by experts

There are many signs to look out for that tell you it’s time to replace a double-hung window. If the window is drafty and inefficient, you may need a new window to block out air leaks and keep your utility bills from skyrocketing. Other signs that it’s time to replace a window include foggy glass, soft or broken window frames, or window sashes that won’t open or close easily.

While plywood will keep winds and debris from shattering your windows from the outside, window film can help protect your windows from the inside. Window film can keep a window from shattering. If your windows break, the film can hold the shards of glass in place, reducing the risk of cuts.

While you may sometimes see window film marketed as "hurricane window film," note that it doesn't provide sufficient hurricane protection on its own. It's no substitute for plywood, storm windows, or hurricane shutters.

The amount of time window lintels last is based on the environment they’re installed in and the material that’s installed. For example, a steel lintel installed in a temperate climate will always last longer than a wooden or brick lintel installed in an area with tons of rain, snow, and wind. No matter which material you choose or where you live, proper maintenance will ensure your lintels last as long as possible.

Vinyl windows have a few cons to consider before installing. For instance, while vinyl windows are energy efficient in terms of maintaining your home’s temperature, the actual process of making vinyl windows involves chemicals that are harmful for the environment. Vinyl windows are also less customizable than some other types of windows.

DIY is possible with the proper tools. Professional installation ensures a proper seal and energy efficiency.
