"This company is great! We live in California and own a rental property in Pembroke Pines. We hired them for the 1st time in 2015 to fix the roof (another company installed it in 2005) and they were very punctual and professional. We contacted them again for a full roof replacement estimate around in November 2018. Their professionalism is impeccable, they did a great job, cleaned up after they were done and were right on schedule. We highly recommend them!"

"Americas Choice Roofing did a total replacement of my asphalt shingle roof, and I could not be happier. Given that this was such a large job, I researched and spoke to many contractors before making a final decision. Americas Choice offered one of the best bids monetarily, but what really set them apart was how well the owner communicated with me through every step of the process. He was very dedicated to making sure that I was satisfied and would either answer immediately or return my phone calls promptly. The workers did a very good job of keeping the job site clean, and the owner even offered to power wash the tire tracks off my driveway left by the shingle delivery truck. The end result was a brand new roof that keeps out the rain, making the house look great, and one very satisfied customer. I would highly recommend!"

"Sammy came out; he called when he was on his way to give us a heads up. I was pleasantly surprised at his honesty. We are first time homeowners and he found us a less expensive way to get the work done, explaining to us that our roof should still be under warranty and even helping me find out the company that did the roof replacement. He could have easily given me a quote and made the $1200, but his honesty was amazing and saved us money!"

"I found them on Angie's list. They called and came out the same week I called. An excellent customer service individual gave us a quote. They said they would be here on a certain day, and they showed up on time. They completed the job without a mess, cleaned up after themself, and looks like they did a great job,. I would definitely recommend them if you are looking for a roofing repair or a full roof replacement. They seem to be honest and reliable."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

Concrete tile roofs last for an average of 50 years, but you could see more than that if you’re diligent about repairs, roof inspections, and maintenance to avoid major damages. Concrete tile roofs are prone to cracking, so they may not last as long without needing repairs in areas with extreme weather, especially hail.

The easiest way to tell if your roof vent boot is leaking is to look in your attic for signs of water damage. You might see visible moisture, water spots, or mold on the roof decking around the roof vent or damaged or soggy insulation below it. If you don’t have access to your attic or aren’t sure if the vent boot is the issue, hire a professional to come inspect your roof and figure out the underlying issue.

The lifespan of a torch down roof depends on the number of layers installed. A single-ply system typically lasts between 10 and 15 years, while a multi-layer system with two or three layers can last from 15 to 25 years. Although a multi-layer option may be more expensive upfront, it provides a longer service life. Warranties often reflect this, with about 12 years for a one-ply system and 15 years for a two-ply system. For context, this lifespan is shorter than other common roofing materials like wood or asphalt shingles, which typically last 20 to 30 years, with high-quality versions lasting up to 50 years.

As with any roofing material, there are benefits and drawbacks to consider before installing roll roofing. On the plus side, roll roofing is budget-friendly, lightweight, and comparatively easy to install. It is also ideal for low-sloped roofs and lasts around 10 years. The cons of roll roofing, however, include its low durability compared to roofing materials, restricted color choices, and low ROI.

Pros:

  • Low-cost

  • Lightweight

  • Cut to size

  • Easy and quick installation

  • Designed for low-sloped roofs

  • Waterproofs your roof for an average of 10 years

  • Easy to purchase and transport

Cons:

  • Less durable than asphalt shingles

  • More prone to cracks and tears

  • Short life span

  • Not as many color or style choices

  • Not as aesthetically pleasing as shingles, wood, or clay tiles

  • Not preferred for a higher home resale value

The best material for your shed roof depends on your budget and personal preferences. For instance, if you’re looking for the most cost-effective option, rolled roofing is your best bet. Just be aware that it only lasts for five to eight years. If you prefer something with a longer life span (and you’re willing to pay for that durability), consider slate shingles, which can last for hundreds of years.
