"I was so concerned with having to get a roof as several homes in my area had plywood or the peel and stick for months. The garbage left on the yards, etc really worried me. Tiger Team to the rescue. Excellent work! Clint provided the estimate and explained the process. I got 5+ quotes and TigerTeam was the most professional, payment is based on project phase completion. Work was done as described and as scheduled. Robert and the teams onsite were fantastic. Highly recommend TigerTeam!"

"The team at G & J roofing were incredibly responsive, timely, and professional when it came to my roof repair. My insurance company gave me almost no time to replace my flat roof, but thankfully G & J were there to help. ⠨⠨ My roof was inspected and I received a quote the SAME DAY that I gave them a call. Gunnar advised me on the issues he observed and gave me a straight-forward explanation on how to repair the issues without trying to sell me on something I didnâ t need. The team showed up and repaired everything the very next week, arriving early in the morning and completing the work before lunch. Not an hour after they left the roof had its first test with some typical torrential rainfall and is holding up perfect. ⠨⠨With many shady and unprofessional roofers in South Florida, Iâ m happy to have found one that I trust. Thank you again G & J!â ¨"

Roofing questions, answered by experts

Always inform your insurance company when you get a new roof. A new roof may entitle you to lower rates or discounts, and if you need to make a claim, they’ll have up-to-date information on your roof. You’ll need to provide documentation—ask your insurance agent what you need to submit to prove you had your roof replaced.

Homeowners insurance may cover the cost to tarp a roof if the type of damage falls within your coverage. For example, roof damage caused by a natural disaster may fall within your plan, and the cost of a temporary tarp may be incorporated. In general, however, simply tarping your roof for renovations will often not fall under insurance coverage.

It’s always a good idea to have a lawyer review any legally binding contract before signing, including roofing contracts. Most contracts have straightforward language that’s easy to understand, but getting advice from an attorney before signing could save you from being locked into a contract you don’t want to move forward with. Having a lawyer review your contract can also help protect you if your roofing professional defaults on their side of the agreement.

The best style of chimney cap for a brick chimney is one that fits tightly around the brick top of the chimney. The cap should have a screen to fully enclose it to keep animals out. The best materials include stainless steel, copper, or aluminum that fit tightly or are custom fabricated for a perfect fit on your chimney.

Architectural shingles typically last between 20 and 30 years. While some manufacturers provide warranties for 30 to 50 years, particularly for extreme weather, achieving such a long lifespan is uncommon. The actual life of your shingles can be shorter if you live in an area prone to strong winds, hailstorms, or other severe weather. To avoid the risk of roof failure and costly water damage from leaks, it is recommended to replace your roof before it reaches the end of its expected life. Scheduling regular roof inspections every few years is a good way to assess your roof's condition and determine the best timeline for replacement.
