We had our Metal roof replaced by Allen Roofing. What a terrific group of professionals! Carl Allen was great to work with & his crew was the best! Our home is 2 stories & lots of angles. In other words difficult! They did a superior job in installing & cleaning up! Love our roof! Highly recommend!

As a result of Hurricane Irma, my metal porch roof and plywood frame supporting the metal panels) was blown onto the main metal roof of my home. I called Carl because he advertised that he provided roof construction services in addition to a straight roofing job. After Carl conducted his assessment and we agreed on the quote he assigned one of his employees , who is licensed building contractor, and his assistant , to complete the necessary work. Unfortunately, I do not know much about construction, because I had no idea that the porch would have pools of water when the rains returned. Even with a light rain, water can be found on the porch floor. I spent hours caulking the porch floor, because this was not done properly by Carl's staff. When they rebuilt the metal roof it was so streamlined that I lost a total of 3 feet and one inch of metal roofing overhang. There is a 22" loss of roofing on one side and 15" loss on the other side of the porch. It's easily seen because the old flashing from the previous roof is still visible. When I texted pictures of my flooded porch floor to Carl he said there was nothing more he could do. I called Carl last week because the roof itself was leaking. He came out last Friday and saw the roof leak and told me that the "debris" ( a small amount of pine straw ) was the cause of the leak. After he left , I got on the ladder myself and saw that the old metal flashing from the previous roof was still there. The old flashing ( about 6 " wide was bent in a position that was conducive for rain water to flow under the new roof to cause the leak. I also noticed that the new flashing does not extend the enter length of the new porch roof. It ends about a foot short, which is where the recent leak occurred.
Response from Allen Roofing LLC
"Customer has a rear porch that had a makeshift framework laid on it that overhung the porch. The hurricane removed the makeshift overhang. I contracted to install a metal roof on the porch. Since it was not the same width as the makeshift cover, the rain came in through the large screens around the porch. The metal roof is a high quality roof with no leaks. I also went the extra mile and installed a new porch floor and painted it free of charge. The owner wants me to build the porch larger so the soffits can overhang 2 foot more. That will require a General Contractor. STRANGE experience."

Carl and his crew did the best they could do as they had to dodge summer afternoon rains while attempting to get the job finished. Before they even got started Carl was by the house and I showed him one major leak in the utility room. Carl came by later and patched it for me. Once they got some dry days they got going and quickly stripped off the old roof and installed the new one. Quick and efficient is the best way to describe their method of operation. Only hiccup was a new city inspector flexing his "I am the law" muscles but even that was taken care of quickly. The new roof has been on for several months now and no leaks of issues. Great job! Carl went above on beyond what I would have expected and I would hire him again in an instant.

Since I had Carl from Allen's roofing do an inspection months prior**, and was happy with his work, so I called him again to check out the roof. Carl remembered me from my previous inspection and was eager to help, even though my minor repairs were nothing compared to the many more profitable jobs nearby. Yet, Carl showed up promptly at my house at a time that would work within my schedule (after 5pm). He and his colleague inspected the roof and went deep into the attic while discussing the possibilities. Where other roofers might be eager to start ripping off shingles and turning a quick repair into an elaborate bill, Carl was unsure of where the water was coming in exactly, and wanted to determine the exact issue before proceeding. His colleague went into the attic while Carl went onto the roof with my garden hose, and started spraying water in various angles at the perceived problem area. Sure enough, the two found the right angle and discovered a dime-sized hole at an almost invisible angle. Relieved that I wasn't about to spend a fortune, the two event went one step further; Carl's colleague went out to the truck, grabbed some caulk, and repaired the hole in a handful of minutes. The two shook my hand and rode off without charging me a dime. I am just not used to that kind of courtesy. Thoroughly impressed with both employees and Allen's Roofing. I would recommend, and will be calling them with any roof problems in the future (**did an Angie's deal in May 2017 with Allen's roofing. The inspection went well and the assessment information was thorough - I just didnt consider it especially noteworthy for leaving a review at the time)

Very well. Carl and his crew were fast and effective right after a big storm with lots of roof issues in town. Did what they said they would do when they said they would and it cost what they estimated.

Responded quickly to my request. Come out in an hour after my call to him, Came out next day and was finished in two days. Did a great job. Did a great job of matching my old shingles. Very professional. Roof has now come through 2 hurricanes with no leaks. I would highly recommend Allen Roofing to anyone who needs their roof repaired.

It was okay. It seemed a kind of pressure to buy more things and what I was interested in getting. They gave me an estimate to do more work and I agreed to it. I felt pressured. I don't think they addressed the problem. They addressed some of the problems that I had but I still experience a leak. They were very responsive.

Carl Warmack got our work request and came to our shop to survey what needed to be done all on the same day. He scheduled work to begin two days later and he an his crew arrived early in the morning and started immediately.  The work was completed just before lunch  time. This has been an ongoing problem for us and we had three different licensed contractors work on it but they only patched and glued never trying to cover it up but never fixed the real problem. Carl and his crew, removed rotting plywood, and beams and all of the bad shingles. They found where the others had re-shingled over bad shingles four deep but just adding to the leak problem. They replaced what needed repairing, cleaned up after themselves and left with an agreement that if we see any leaks, call him and they will get on it.

To sum it up, they showed us how the professional does it and we are more than happy with the work. Of course we will have to see what comes after the next big rain, but, really, after seeing them at work  I don't think I will have to call him again!

Carl and his group were excellent. Carl promptly showed up at our scheduled time for an estimate. While he was assessing the roof, I pointed to him in an area where I had a leak. Restoring my faith in humanity, Carl did a temporary repair, free of charge, to hold me through the upcoming days of rain before they could do the work. Carl's estimate for the job was ~$3000 less than the average of the estimates I received from others. The quality of work was outstanding and I would highly recommend Allen roofing. After the work was done, in a very timely manner, I was concerned that Carl would lose $ on the job and I wrote him a check for $3000 more than the original estimate--I wanted to pay him for the quality and magnitude of work this company did.

After lots of research and estimates I picked Allen Roofing to reroof my personal home. I was in frequent contact with the owner during the process. He always listened and had good answers to my questions. He also addressed every concern or issue that came up during the process in a way that was beyond my expectations. I'm happy with the service I received and the way my new roof looks.

They worked through the weekend to get the job done while I was out of town...went well.  There was an issue with the wood surrounding the chimney.  I had asked for the trim to be replaced with Hardie board but they mistakenly used pressure treated.  They came back and actually replaced all wood on the chimney instead of just the trim as contracted with Hardie for no extra charge.

I can highly recommend Allen Roofing for high quality work, attention to detail, excellent choice of materials, friendly service and a very reasonable price without extra hidden costs. Hiring this company is one of the best purchasing decision I've made in the past five years. The roof looks great!

Perfect. It was hard due to the condition of the roof and time of year.
Outstanding work and so much attention to detail. They did not cut corners one bit.
Patience, kindness were so evident.
Skilled workers who did wonderful installation and fantastic  clean  up.
I will not ever have to look for another roofer ever.
How refreshing this was after having 7 or 8 other estimates and some start stop never finish companies.
Many of them were not truthful about what needed to be done some did not want to attempt it as it was not a big enough job.
I am grateful to this company and I promise  you will be too if you use good sense and hire them for any roofing needs.

Carl was BY FAR the best roofer I spoke to in Gainesville.  He knows his products AND he's a licensed State Certified Roofing Contractor.  We own many properties and have had many roofers in many parts of the State of Florida, and Allen Roofing/Carl Warmack exceeded even our exceptionally high expectations.  We spent nearly 18 months trying to get a GOOD, honest, and punctual roofer in Gainesville.  I tried all the "big boys," and every single one of them left us feeling uneasy, EXCEPT Carl.  My wife and I wondered if this was "too good to be true," but through the whole process, it was perfect and we would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone.  They started on the day they said they were going to, then finished in THREE DAYS.  NO lingering work, it was fantastic.  If only all companies operated like Allen Roofing, things would be much easier.
