"I was fully informed on the differences in film that could be applied. The cost was very reasonable for the project. I had the company apply a darker film to my bedroom windows and a shade lighter for my patio doors to lessen the glare off the Southern side of the home."

We take great pride in our experience, expertise, quality, and customer service that we provide to meet the consumer's needs. It is our mission to provide excellent workmanship and complete customer satisfaction from start to completion of a project. In order to understand the needs and expectations of our customers, we take great care to work and communicate with every customer in a professional manner. Our reputation is based on service, safety, and quality, regardless of how large or small the job.

"After Justin gave me my estimate he and the crew showed up the very next day. The job was very professional. Being an old houe built in the 60's it was a challenge that Jason and his crew were up for. They meticulously removed all bat insulation, vacuumed all debris, spayed and disinfected the entire attic space, and finally sprayed 5.5" of foam to create the perfect climate controlled zone. Everyone was extremely professional as well as approachable to answer questions. They worked for 18hrs in the small.,tight, hot attic space to ensure the job was completed so we could finish having our HVAC system updated without interpretation. I would recommend the for anything and look forward to doing more business with them soon. I will be replacing my windows and doors and will have Justin come back to tint them, also after raising and leveling the house I will have them spay under the house. You definitely get what you pay. If you're looking for honest hard working people look no further"

"I was on the market for a security system and this one seemed easy enough to install.......went through the process and some of the window sensors were not working. I called Customer Support who was very friendly and we went through the entire process again...this time other window sensors did not work. This went on for a week or so...then the door senors stopped working....than the motion sensor stopped working...at no time in over a month did I have a fully operational security system. As I was about to return the system I was told they have "new" sensors and they just realized they received a bad batch and are working with another company.....Gave it a try....and same issue returned....some sensors worked....some didn't. I finally returned the system and stopped getting emails.....only to find that they were still billing my credit card even after I returned the equipment. Very nice people and very understanding.....unfortunately their product is not up to par. While we do have a large home, it's an open concept and the sensors that weren't working were no more than 15ft away from the base. The previous owners of my house had a wireless system with no issues at all.....I'm going to be using that company going forward."

The Solar Guys was founded by John & Marilyn Teel in 2001 in response to the rapid demand for quality, innovative natural day lighting products, and Solatube was the obvious choice. Since 2001 The Solar Guys has grown from a small home based company to largest Solatube dealer in the United States. Our territory originally included Alachua, Marion, Citrus, Lake and Sumter counties. In 2010 The Solar Guys acquired the Orlando market as part of our service area. This included Volusia, Flagler, Seminole, Orange and Osceola counties. In 2012, The Solar Guys acquired exclusive marketing rights for the sale and installation of Huper Optik window film in Marion, Lake, and Sumter counties. In 2014 The Solar Guys started our insulation division initially offering water heater wraps and garage door insulation. This quickly grew to whole house radiant barrier and blown-in attic insulation. In 2015 Chris Teel acquired minority ownership once again reaffirming our belief of keeping the “family” in family business. Chris currently qualifies The Solar Guys with a Florida Certified Building Contractor License (CBC1260615), Certified Roofing Contractor License (CCC1330841), & Certified Solar License (CVC57042). In November 2015 The Solar Guy Our territory includes Alachua, Marion, Citrus, as well as Lake and Sumter counties. In May 2010 The Solar Guys acquired the Orlando market as part of our service area. This includes Flagler, Volusia, Seminole, Orange and Osceola counties. Further expansion occurred with the acquisition of Pasco and Hernando counties in October of 2010. In 2011, we diversified our product line to include Hüper Optik window films. As a part of our commitment to renewable energy, our employees and our customers, The Solar Guys have placed product quality, business integrity, and customer satisfaction at the core of business model. The result has been unparalleled success in the industry and we are determined to carry this success far into the future.

"Eric is awesome. 14" solar tube installed in well under two hours. Zero mess. Love the results: daylight in formerly pitch dark hallway! With homeshow discount, $674 including solar nightlight. Would definitely do it again."

Hurricane Film questions, answered by experts

During hurricanes or other major storms, high winds can cause objects and debris to fly through the air, which can break your windows. Depending on how strong the storm is, the winds themselves may be strong enough to break your windows, too. Investing in storm windows or hurricane shutters can help protect you against potential window breakage.

In general, hailstones need to be at least one inch in diameter to cause damage to a roof. Smaller hailstones can also cause damage, but usually only if accompanied by strong winds or striking aging roofs in poor condition. Obviously, the larger the hail, the more potential for damage.

Yes, hail damage to your roof can definitely cause water leaks in your roof. This is because hailstones can break, chip, crack, or split shingles of all types, exposing underlayment. This underlayment doesn’t offer as much protection against water, so when it becomes compromised, water can penetrate and leak deeper into your home.

DIY is not recommended due to the complexity and potential structural issues. Hire professionals for thorough and safe repairs.

Tipping roofers, even for emergency roof repairs, isn’t really expected. However, it can be a very nice gesture, especially if the roofer is saving your home from extensive damage. Tips don’t need to be in the form of money, either. You can make them a meal or bring them coffee—these gestures are often more appreciated as they’re more personal than cash.
