Small jobs welcome

"I should have called him from the beginning! I called someone else and what a mistake. Cody came out and fixed what was messed up by this other guy. Cody burned all the massive piles that were left from land clearing and smoothed out the land that was messed up by the tracks. I will call him first because he takes pride in what he does and makes everything look amazing instead of leaving you with a mess. Cody also made us an arena for the horses! What a great guy and very responsible!"

"I can't recommend these guys enough! The quality of the work is excellent. And they are fast. I had two fences built and they finished each one in just two days. Plus they are very pleasant and fun to work with. Great customer service. They always got back to me promptly and always responded to my text messages. They didn't leave me hanging wondering if they were going to come back and finish the job. They did what they said they would do and they did it well. I've gotten so many compliments on the new fence. Everyone wants to know who built it so I'm recommending them to all my neighbors. They may not be the absolute cheapest on price but they are the best on craftmanship and value. If you want something that looks like it was built by a professional, call these guys."

Fountains questions, answered by experts

You have several options for your pond by getting your yard ready for the winter. You can winterize your koi pond by ensuring it’s at least 5 feet deep so it doesn’t freeze completely, installing a pond heater or aerator and having it run at all times, and installing a deicer if temperatures are dangerously low for an extended period. You can also choose to shut down your pond for the winter by removing all the wildlife in it and bringing it indoors, cleaning out the filter and pump, and then covering the pond with a tarp.

One of the most important parts of building a pond is digging the right depth. Your pond needs to be at least one to two feet deep. The specifics of the depth will depend on factors such as the placement of the pond and whether you plan on having fish. If you have fish in your pond, it will need to be at least two feet deep.

A good rule of thumb is to change 5% to 15% of your koi pon’s water every week. Partial water changes help keep your koi healthy, and replacing small amounts at a time prevents causing stress for the fish.

Most home misters use several cups of water in a couple of minutes, or around a gallon per hour of use. That varies greatly depending on the size of the system and the power of the pump. If you are using professional services, you should ask about water use for your planned system when you’re getting an estimate. If you are using a water tank, make sure it’s filled before operation.

While they’re popular and have a lot of pros, the cons of river rocks include the following:

  • River rocks don’t break down or provide nutrients to plants.

  • These stones can get hot and scorch nearby plants.

  • River stones may heat the surrounding soil to inhospitable temperatures.

  • Rocks can block rainwater from seeping into the ground if installations are too thick or tightly packed.

Most downsides occur when using river rock as mulch in gardens and flower beds. However, you can still incorporate river rocks into your landscape as long as you use them in the correct ways.
