"Starting at the end of last year, I started researching water treatment systems for my home. After checking in with a few companies around town, I discovered Best Water Solutions. When I first called their office to discuss a quote, I ended up talking to Courtney for about half an hour. She gave me information about their services and answered a few questions I had before the estimate. Later on the next week, Jorge came out to my home to evaluate our water needs. He was very honest and straightforward with what was needed for the home. It was a relief to hear that not much was needed. This was a pleasant surprise as other companies around town just tried to sell bigger, complicated, and more expense systems that werenâ t necessary or useful for our situation. He took some water samples to test to confirm that nothing else was needed in addition to his initial evaluation. A couple days later, he called me and let me know that all was well. We only needed a sediment filter, water softener, and reverse osmosis system for our drinking water. This was a relief, but me being a curious person still had a lot of questions. I spent quite a while on the phone with Jorge and he was happy to answer all of my questions. Throughout the whole process, Jorge and Courtney had an approach of education and patience, whereas everyone else I talked to just wanted to sell a system. After the system was quoted and approved, we had an install date a couple weeks out. When the technicians arrived at my home, they were friendly and professional. I went over a few details with them and they had everything setup within a few hours. The install was IMMACULATE. There was great attention to detail and care in handling all the equipment. After the install was complete, the technicians went over everything that was done. I asked them about when to change filters and what was needed maintenance wise for the system. They let me know that I did not need to worry about it as the office would reach out when anything was needed to be done. This was great as it took one more item off my plate to keep track of. It's been great having the confidence that our home water supply and drinking water is now clean and protected. I would highly recommend Best Water Solutions to anyone in the Alachua County area looking for a water treatment system for their home or business."

"I would highly recommend LCRG Enterprises. Izryal has been absolutely tremendous in helping me with both of my properties in central Florida. One property had discolored water, and after a chlorination system was installed, it became instantly better. Izryal still comes by personally each month for service to the system. The other property received a water conditioning system that drastically softened my water. It has been a wonderful enhancement to the house. They have been a fantastic company to work with and I will absolutely be utilizing their services again on my next house."

"From the consultation to the installation, this company was great. I have well water that had a sulfur smell and iron staining. Chuck came out and quoted system, it was priced below 2 other quotes I had received. Work was done professionally and quickly. Water is so much better now. Highly recommend this company. They followed up 2 weeks after install, to make sure all was good. Could not be happier! A++++++"

Water Softeners questions, answered by experts

Yes, a water softener can remove scale deposits. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, after you add a water softener to your home, “gradually the softer water will dissolve limescale scale deposits and remove the problem entirely.” Installing a water softener—or water descaler—will also help prevent new scale deposits from forming.

Generally, it is safe to bathe in yellow water, as the color is often caused by iron, tannins, or rust, which won't harm your skin. Soap will still clean you effectively, though the water might leave stains. However, if the water has an unusual smell or you suspect contamination, avoid bathing and contact a plumber for an inspection. A professional can also help if you find bathing in yellow water problematic and want to determine how to get your water clear again.

Drinking hard water is not known to have any negative health impacts. Using hard water can lead to dry skin and hair, and the minerals in hard water can build up in pipes, faucets, and appliances. Hard water is more of a threat to your plumbing than it is to your health.

Most of the U.S. has hard water, especially across portions of the West and Midwest. The areas with the hardest water include parts of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming, Illinois, North and South Dakota, Ohio, and New York. You’ll find soft water in parts of New England, the Southeast, the Pacific Northwest, and Hawaii.

The main difference between a water softener and a water filter is what they remove from the water. A water softener is specifically designed to remove hard minerals, while a filter removes a wider range of contaminants above a certain size, such as bacteria and other impurities. If your primary goal is to remove minerals, a softener is the best choice. If you want to remove various contaminants for safety or taste, a filter is more suitable. Filters are also typically less expensive to install. Depending on your water supply's specific issues, you may need to install both systems for comprehensive treatment.
