Once started, the renovation went quickly. The pool looks beautiful. There were a couple follow-ups after completion but these were eventually addressed to my satisfaction.

They do great work, I can't recommend them enough. He's willing to go so far as to show you photos of work he's done in the past and will even let you speak with some of his old customers to ask them questions.

So far so good. Getting the permits was very time consuming but Jeremy either let me know what was happening or answered my texts promptly. They got started last Thursday and have accomplished a lot in three days one of which poured rain. Jeremy sends me pictures each day while I'm at work to show me the progress. Most importantly for me, they make sure the gate is shut so my dogs don't get out. I'll update this when the job is completed

Mike Elliot was recommended highly by a very discerning neighbor who had just had him install an in ground backyard pool. When he came and did the estimate we were very impressed with his knowledge and an obvious desire to have the job turn out exactly as we wanted. He explained every step they would take and we were impressed with the science he followed for each step. They started on time and he personally supervised and worked with his crew. They covered the entire pool with a visqueen "tent" which pretty much kept all the plaster dust contained. They ground out around the jets and tiles so the new surface would feather in, which it did nicely. (This was not done with our previous resurfacing so the jets had become depressed into the surface). The price included all new jets and drains. Mike and Pat Robertson and their crew could not have been more pleasant to work with. He always let us know what they were doing that day and when they would return and what they would do then. Weather permitting, they always did as they said they would. The pool looks brand new which is what we wanted. He has our highest recommendation without reservation

Coolwater Pools (Gainsville, Fl)

Needed a new vinyl liner for the pool. He answered the phone call, which I liked, so my questions could be answered (as opposed to a secretary). He was scheduled a few weeks out but let me know of an earlier availability when it arose. Communication was great and response to my message was rapid. He ensured small details would be included in the quoted price and even suggested the upgraded items at no additional charge. 50% down and the remaining balance at completion of service (quoted estimate is what I paid). The best part is that he has a voice perfect for movie trailers

ASP was very responsive at first to win the business. Once work started it progressed smoothly and they did a good job. the issue is that once the job was near completion things slower down considerably and then once they were paid in full it is difficult to get them to follow-up on any adjustments left to do. Mainly one new pool light was malfunctioning and (still) there is a strip in the pool which was missed when the subcontractors they hired applied the finish. I reported to the person they keep sending when I call but somehow there is never any follow-up (he took pics on his phone). Finally I just had the light replaced (under warrantee, but took 2-3 months and still nothing on the pool finish. I should have held back their final payment as once they were paid, this is when their attitude changed from sending the "A team" to something less

Paradise Pool Company

Paradise Pools built a pool, spa, and large paver deck at our house and arranged a screen enclosure too. The end product is an attractive pool the matches the plans. There is a defect (rust spot) in the plaster that Paradise attempted to fix but the spot returned within weeks. Paradise is very difficult to deal with due to poor communication, organization, and long delays. Initially they asked us to pick our pool materials (plaster, tile, pool design...) ASAP so they can get started soon, but they were six months late getting started and had another 2 month delay soon after starting. They don't give any warning or explanation about delays. Our 4-5 month project took July-April to complete. There where many times when I was told "we'll be there next week" with no follow through, multiple weeks in a row. They recommended Affordable Alluminum (Charlie from Ocala) to build the screen enclosure. He built the wrong structure and was worse to deal with. We have a security camera in the back yard so we could see when they were working. I caught one of the Paradise employees trying to open my back door soon after my wife left the house. I warned Dean about this. That employee still worked there months later. Once the pool was completed our back yard was a pile of construction trash and dirt. They wouldn't come clean it up for months and when they did they did an incomplete job. I took the last bit of trash and concrete to the dump myself and it was 1000 lbs of junk on the scale there. They killed all the grass in my backyard from all the dirt and equipment. They say they will grade the yard at the end of construction, but they left a very large dirt pile and a low point in the yard that became a mud pit. I was planning on soding the yard myself but I had to hire a landscaper to grade and finish due to the large amount of dirt to move around. Luckily our final product is pretty nice, but at friend had a worse experience and Paradise abandoned the unfinished project just before completion. Overall I cannot recommend this company

COMMUNITY BUILDERS INC

It is a family owned company and the brothers do such an amazing job. They are hardworking and talented. However it took such a long time to build, and unfortunately they did not communicate to let me know what was happening. I would use them again in the future if they kept me updated on what is going on

CRYSTAL POOLS AND SPA

TERRIBLE, Andy is very unprofessional and unorganized. They required thousands down but took over 5 months to start the job. They do not return calls, EVER. I finally had to go to their office to get an answer on when they would start. Then, they did not install pump properly (left filter out!?), did not fill up pool all the way before turning pump on (pool pump was running with very little almost no water, luckily I arrived home in time to catch it before it blew up), and they did not balance water (included in contract). These are simple things a pool professional would know. Worst experience ever!!

Paradise Pool Company

Paradise Pool Company of Gainesville is the single worst pool company in Alachua County. Warn your friends that if they want a pool installed, to seek business with any company other than Paradise Pools. Over the last 6 years since my installation, we have had 5 major repairs needed on our pool. Four of those repairs were leaks in the pipes of the system including two times at the drain, very bottom of the pool. Each repair has required major digging in our yard and two have required that our pool slab be jack hammered and destroyed. It?s bad enough that we are only able to use our pool from May to October due to the weather, but then to have the pool out of commission because you cannot get Paradise Pools to come out and do the repair is unacceptable. Paradise Pools does not know what the words Customer Service mean and do not demonstrate any level of customer service skills. They do not answer their phones and screen calls. You can leave messages and they do not return them. They are nothing short of dishonest businessmen. My latest repair was yet another leak in the pipes at the drain. After getting the leak detection company to locate the problem back in November of 2015, I made several attempt to contact Paradise Pools to come out and initiate a work order for my repair. I finally received a call on 12/15/15 and was told by Dean, the service manager, that the repair crew would be out on Friday 12/18/15. No one showed up. Again. No matter what time and date Paradise pools tells you they will be there, they don?t show up and they don?t ever call to let you know why or where they are. Now to pickup a check or sign a contract, they are there Johnny on the spot. The crew finally showed up at my home on 12/23/15, dug a 3x3 hole in my slab and foundation and left. From 12/28/15-1/24/16, I left a total of 22 voice mails on their system asking where the repair crew was, when they would be back and for the service manager Dean to call me back. I received one voice mail from Dean on 1/21/16, with a condescending remark of ?trying to call you, AGAIN.? Lie. He never tried to call me. On 1/25/16, we fired Paradise Pools and asked them to not step foot on our property again. This was done via voice mail because again, we could not get anyone to answer the phone. On 1/26/16, Dean called me and stated that the reason the repair was not done was because on 12/23/15 when the repair crew came out to the house that someone on the property told them to leave because the leak was already repaired and to leave the hole unfilled. What? If that was the case, why would I leave 27 voice mails asking when someone was going to be back to make the repairs? If that was the case, would it not make sense to call the customer and follow up and clarify the situation. Instead, Paradise Pools wants to call and offer me a bold face lie about the situation. When I explained my frustration to Dean that afternoon, he hung up on me. That?s right, hangs up on me. Tom Solberg is the president of the company and the sales man. He is your best friend until the minute you sign over the payment for the pool. At that point, you never see him or hear from him again. My pool install was guaranteed to be done in 45 days. 4 months later, my job was completed. Twice during the construction, the pool rebar that was setup fell and caved in. That should have been my first sign of the lack of engineering skills on behalf of Paradise Pools. One month after our pool was completed, the first leak occurred at the drain pipe putting the pool out of commission for 3 more months. Mention Paradise Pools among the circles of pool companies including Pinch a Penny, Fun State Pools, Florida Leisure Pools, American Leak Detection, Roberts Pool Repairs, to name a few and they cringe. Paradise Pools has the single handed worst reputation in the business. Side Note: We called Funstate Pools on 1/25 and they were out on 1/26 to my home to make the repair. It took them 45 minutes to patch the leak and fix my pool. 45 MINUTES!!! Shame on you Paradise Pools. Bottom line? Paradise Pools is unreliable, provides zero customer service, don?t show up for appointments when scheduled, don?t return calls, and are unbearable to deal with. I?d also like to add that they are not accredited by the BBB due to the number of complaints received. Read these other complaints below: -Ed boyd find someone else ..... they come for an hour or 2 per day..they don't have dependable equipment, but cheap harbor freight stuff ...Morefind someone else ..... they come for an hour or 2 per day..they don't have dependable equipment, but cheap harbor freight stuff and then they claim they will have there guy come set up your pool, chemically make it right and sweep it for a week to put it on the right path and then turn it over............. that guy is USELESS.... didnt see him for 5 days, had to start it up myself because i couldnt stand the odor and the look of the swamp water, he swept pool one day came the next and said it will be fine, it doesnt need brushing but once a week, yet his foreman says otherwise, as well as the web go elsewhere........final warning -A Google User Paradise Pools was contracted to keep and maintain the pool at University Commons, a student community across from the UF campus. During our four week relationship, Paradise Pools was not only inadequate in their attempts to keep the pool clean but when issues arose with our pool pump, their lack of experience and expertise caused our pool to become completely unusable (this happened between the months of July 2010 and August 2010; you could imagine the fury of our tenants). We contracted another pool company and have been happy since. Paradise Pool's idea of expedient service does not hold a light to any other pool service and repair company that we have experienced in Florida... it's non-existent. During the time that University Commons and Paradise Pools worked together, "paradise" never came to mind. -S.Raulerson, Alachua resident I really regret choosing Paradise Pool Company to build our pool. It has been a miserable experience. It is going to wind up taking them longer to finish my pool that it did to build my home. Not to mention that I cannot get anyone to return a phone call or respond to an email. So frustrated and disappointed. -Customer Warwicke We have worked with many contractors, this is by far the worst! Pool was to be finished in Aug/12, was not ready to use until Dec. Contractor used every excuse in the book, was often unresponsive. Specific problems: Deck was so uneven around the spa the owner had to insist it be redone as it was unsafe. The rest on the deck has very obvious sloping, is unsightly. Excuse given..shape of pool. Consultant states...problem with "shooting" pool between level from house, the pool and the footings. Basically no care for the new plaster. NONE! Now plaster is badly marked. Paradise rep. states looks normal. Immediate post plaster care was so poor that the skimmer basket split because it was so full of debis, and the pump had to be turned off by owner as it was so hot. Contract stated side sucking cleaner, a cheap hand vacuum head and tubing delivered. Later changed. Etc etc. etc. Summary..the owner is a great salesman, but in no way can we recommend this company as a pool contractor. -P. Sarantos I made the mistake of using Paradise pools to do a major pool renovation. They are 3 months late and not 1/2 way through the work. They are unresponsive and the owner has an attitude which prohibits him from working with other contractors and interior designers. I have done many home projects before and have never encountered such unprofessional and unacceptable behavior.miserable experience. It's going to end up taking them longer to finish my pool than it did to build my house. Not to mention no one will return phone calls or emails. So frustrated and disappointed

"Dealt with a reputable pool contractor. My swimming pool installation went flawlessly and couldn't be happier with the service I received. Thank god for the referral I got."
We Fix Broken Pools, Hot Tubs and Spas. I'm a State licensed swimming pool contractor. I can build them too, but there's so many poorly built and broken ones, I stay busy with just renovating, repairs, and making old ones work and look like new again. Our specialty is custom repair solutions to your pool and spa - equipment, resurfacing, deck refinishing, liner replacements and leak detection. If it sits on your pool equipment pad or under your hot tub cabinet, we can fix it. If it's cracking..
"The service was really good. Very professional and friendly

"We are so glad we decided to go with Fun State Pools rather than another contractor which we were encouraged to use. We got 3 estimates and they were all pretty much in line with each other so really, we ended up going with who we were most comfortable with. It took a long time for them to get started but we knew this up front since it was June when we signed our contract. Then the rain set in and they were behind some. Once they got going though, it was clear to us that we made the right choice.
Every group that came to work on our pool was professional, friendly and I think most refreshing-hard working! Always showing up early and working until the particular phase they were on was complete these folks were true professionals. Their experience and commitment to excellence was always apparent. Even our notorious building inspector could not find any problems, he even commented on what a nice pool we were getting.
Merritt Aluminum...wow. We could have used a local contractor but decided to go ahead and go with the company Fun State recommended and works with regularly. So glad we did not break up the team here! The young man who measured for the enclosure was so meticulous. No time was wasted either, a couple of days after he measured; they were setting up the enclosure.
Communication was fantastic all the way through the process; another aspect I find quite refreshing. There are so many options when it comes a custom pool; design, tile and texture. Barry our salesman was so helpful and patient. He answered anything we asked and offered his insights when we requested his thoughts. This has been a very good experience all around.
We have had construction work done here before and have had to do a lot of the clean up work. Not so with Fun State Pools. They picked up every scrap and evened out all around the pool. NICE.
Also, we're glad we had the pool go in during the winter because in reality, it takes a long time to get an in ground pool to swimmable. It would have been hard to NOT swim during our hot summers. For now, we are enjoying the spa while small pool details are finished up. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE our Fun State Pool.

"Fantastic job - arrived on time, got right to work, and left area clean. Very professional and best of all, the rubber surfacing looks great and after almost a year, it still looks like it was just put down. With kids playing on it, we feel it gives a safe play area as well as looking wonderful. Really makes our backyard stand out. Highly recommend them!
