Recent Septic Tank Service Reviews in Harbeson

  • McMullen Septic Service Inc
OJ arrived after a call from the office saying he was on his way. He carefully backed into the drive with that big truck and never had an issue. He was very personable and walked us through the entire process, as we had never had this service performed before. He gave us helpful tips on keeping the septic operating properly. He was very clean, and careful of property and fences. No doubt who I will be going to next time

  • McMullen Septic Service Inc
Living far from my Dad, I used Angie's List to find a septic company in his area. McMullen was responsive, polite, and understanding of the situation and went out to see my Dad the next day. I can't thank them enough for their professionalism.

  • Price And Son Septic Service
While not the most sociable, neither when answering the phone to schedule service nor once on scene, Mr. Price was quite friendly once I initiated conversation. I am not much of a conversationalist either, but I did want to know about the tank and how it looked and the level, since we just bought the house the previous year and I was uncertain about how frequently it should be pumped. He answered my questions plus had a bit of friendly conversation, so I was happy in that respect. They did not make a mess or tear up the yard (granted there is no digging to gain access to our tank because of how it is set up and the high erosion of our sandy soil). I feel like I was slightly overcharged, but I'm not concerned since we won't have to pump again until we go to sell the house in 4 years

The technician that came out was just wonderful. I wish I could find a million people like this guy. He was kind and caring and explained everything. He took his time, he didn't rush anything. He was just a wonderful man. He took everything apart and explained everything that he was doing. He even went under the house to see if my main line broke. He went above and beyond

  • James A Briddell & Son Inc
Wanted a company to come and pump my septic tank since it had been 4 years since I moved into my house. This company was recommended by my neighbors who used them to replace their entire septic system (they had to get a mound system) and my neighbors were impressed with Briddell and Son's Work. I called and they gave me an estimate over the phone based on the size of my tank (# of bedrooms in my house). They were able to schedule service within a few days, showed up on time and pumped the tank without issue or additional cost

  • Ken Darling And Sons
I called at 7:03 Monday morning because my septic system alarm and pump would not turn off. Mr. Darling answered the phone and said he would come check it out after work, between 5 and 6. He arrived around 5 (after his work day had ended) and checked the pump and alarm, adjusted the floats in the tank, then cleared the pipes in the leach field (this took about an hour). He was very knowledgeable, educating me on what he was doing and how to do it myself. Very reasonable price, prompt response and service, extremely nice person. He knows what he is doing

  • Price And Son Septic Service
I called Price and Son and the truck was on my property within an hour. The service was prompt, complete and professional. Note: I am not sure of the date. It has been about a year ago from May 2012 when this review was written.

Clean Delaware arrived on time. They did an excellent job of cleaning and servicing the system. They explained the functions of the septic system and how to keep it functioning properly. We would definitely use them again.
    Richard H.
They came about a year ago to pump out the septic system because it was backed up and then they came this time. They came right out. We paid about $260 total for the service. The service call was $60. He is responsive and professional. When I call him, he is here.

  • McMullen Septic Service Inc
The alarm went off due to the snow hitting the GFI plug. But after further inspection also found the trigger alarm switch was not in its proper placement in the tank.

Septic Tank Service FAQ

  1. What are the signs your septic tank is full?

Answer: There are several signs that indicate your septic tank could be full. These include standing water over your septic tank, a strong odor coming from your yard, gurgling water, slow drains, or a sewage backup. While many of these signs could also be indicative of a clogged system, they should all be checked out by a professional ASAP to avoid costly damages. In the absence of any of these signs, it’s recommended that septic tanks be emptied every 3 to 5 years on average.

  2. How often should a septic tank be serviced?

Answer: On average, septic tanks should be serviced every 3 to 5 years in the absence of any worrying signs that the tank is clogged or full. The size of your septic tank, the number of people living in your home, and your average water usage will all impact how often your septic tank needs to be serviced.

  3. What are the most common causes of septic tank failure?

Answer: The most common cause of septic tank failure is improper maintenance. Failing to pump a septic tank on the appropriate schedule will cause septic tank failure and likely result in a costly septic tank repair or replacement. On average, septic tanks should be pumped every 3 to 5 years, but the size of your tank, the number of people in your home, and your average water usage may shorten or extend this timeframe.

  4. How much does it cost to pump a septic tank?

Answer: The cost to pump a septic tank is $400 on average or about $0.30 per gallon. The size of your septic tank, as well as local labor costs, will impact the cost of pumping your septic tank. Most septic tanks are between 600 and 2,000 gallons in size, meaning the average cost range is between $180 to $600.

  5. How much does it cost to install a septic system?

Answer: The cost to install a septic tank system is between $3,060 and $9,810, on average. The size of the septic tank you choose, the land you’re installing it on, the type of system you choose, and local labor costs will all influence the total cost of installing a septic system. Anaerobic septic tanks (those that don’t need oxygen) typically cost between $3,000 and $8,000. Aerobic systems, which utilize oxygen to activate bacteria and are popular on smaller properties, usually cost between $10,000 and $20,000.

  6. How long does a septic system last?

Answer: When septic systems are well maintained, they can last up to 30 years or more. If a septic system isn’t properly maintained, such as when it isn’t pumped regularly, it may malfunction and require costly repairs or a premature replacement. In general, septic tank pumping is recommended every 3 to 5 years to ensure the septic system lasts as long as possible.
