"The place sparkled! The cabinets...out and especially inside...looked like new! All they wanted to know from me was whether there was anything more they could do, anything they had overlooked. What could I say? I'm a perfectionist but their work was beyond perfect. In fact, my general contractor, who oversaw the multi-day work, was so impressed with the cleaning company and the owner that he is going to regularly use them on projects he does. When one professional like the work of another one that much, that is a terrific recommendation."

"Fausto Construction is the best I’ve ever worked with! I’ve dealt with contractors who met deadlines but delivered mediocre work, and others who were meticulous but took forever to finish. Fausto struck the perfect balance—paying attention to every detail, producing high-quality work, and completing everything on time. Since I don’t live near my condo, I needed someone I could trust completely, and Fausto did not disappoint. He provided regular progress updates with photos, and the communication was excellent. Thanks to Fausto, my condo now has stunning new floors, a high-end shower, and beautiful finishing touches that make it feel brand new while preserving its beachy charm. He listened to my ideas, made thoughtful suggestions without any hard upsell, and truly cared about the final result. I’m beyond happy with his work and will absolutely use Fausto Construction again for my next big home improvement project!"

"It took us time to find a contractor. We got over Six quotes only two contractors actually sent us a bid. Ben was very responsive. He sent us the quote within a week from the visit. We were very satisfied with the process. We were always in the know. We have done renovations In the past with contractors and we were always not pleased with not knowing the schedule. We finally found someone we can trust and will definitely be using him again. Thank you again Ben it was a pleasure meeting you and working with you."

"Dave did great work for us. We wanted to update three bathrooms. Dave replaced the floors, vanities, mirrors, and all the fixtures. He also brought in a subcontractor to reglazed the tubs. Dave finished on time, on budget, and the work looks great. I will definitely call Dave next time I need a contractor or handyman."

"First and foremost, I apologize for the late review. Mark is a great communicator. As most of the work was done while I was at work and my dog was at daycare, I truly appreciated all of his communications via text. He would send me photos too to show me the progress. I did appreciate that.
He was always available to me via phone call or text. That also put my mind at ease.
Mark met with me to review the project and give me an estimate. I met with 2 other contractors and Mark seemed to have a good vibe, so I chose his company. He has also done other jobs in the area and I liked that too.
Bathroom remodel- Completely gutted it. Very small bathroom, and partially remodeled before, so I wanted it to be a nice, complete upgrade. All new fixtures, vanity, small cabinet, medicine cabinet, bathtub- mostly purchased from Lowes. Mark picked up the bathtub that I purchased at Home Depot and brought it to my house for installation. ( When I was shopping for items and I had questions, I would text him with photos and he would respond to my texts so I could make timely decisions). Subway tile in the bath/ shower area, with a small window shelf on the back wall. Marble penny tile on the floor. Textured walls to match the rest of the house. Painted walls, rehinged door to open the opposite way, repainted door, baseboards.
Kitchen lights- such a difference with LED lights in the kitchen. I can see.
Kitchen door- he fixed the hinge so that the door closes snugly and even.
Baseboards/Crown molding- These make such a difference in the appearance of my house. There are a few gaps in the connected pieces, but overall it looks nice. Minor paint spills on the floor, but nothing major. I love them.
Ceiling crack repair/painted walls and ceilings- The ceilings look awesome. I had cracks that extended from one end to another in the living room and master bedroom, that was just an eyesore. They flushed it out and repainted both ceilings afterwards and it looks like new. Yippee.
Drywall repair- I had a huge piece of a closet wall missing from an electrical upgrade done to my panel on the exterior wall of my closet. That was several years ago. So I asked Mark if they could repair it. He did, they repainted the inside of the closet too. It's like new.
I can't express how happy I am with the process of this remodel and other projects when working with Mark Halpert construction. His team was nice, clean and prompt. Again, I chose them since the reviews were good and he was reasonably priced. I have had really bad experiences with other contractors, and Mark and his team were easy to work with. I would definitely hire them again for future projects.

"After meeting with several contractors, I met Ryan and instinctually knew he was the right choice. In fact it was the best decision. I purchased a place that needed a remodel badly. We had a limited time and budget to do everything. Not only did he and his team finish on time and budget, the remodel turned out even more beautiful than I imagined. Ryan and his team realized an even better version of my vision. He was a great collaborator, figuring out how and enhancing my ideas and always mindful of the cost. I will work with Ryan and his team again. I highly recommend him."

Customers say: Quick response

"First project: I am very pleased with Repairs & Remodels On Demand (RROD). I was in the process of selling a property that was about 75 years old. The buyer's mortgage company had sent an inspector who noted several issues. Obviously I was under time pressure. RROD responded very quickly. I needed a hearth built in front of an existing fireplace. RROD advised me on what the current code requirements were. I selected material and the hearth was installed the next day. The inspector also reported six electrical issues, four plumbing issues in the kitchen and four in the bathroom. RROD repaired them all in two days. RROD sent a three man team. The timeline for the project was: Day 1, evaluate job and create estimate; Day 2, install hearth, correct electrical issues and begin plumbing work; Day 3, complete plumbing. On the fourth day I notified the buyer's agent to schedule the re-inspection; the inspection passed with no problems. Sale completed. Second project: In a rental property I own, a tenant wanted a laundry area. I had had the area plumbed but the walls had been opened to accomplish the plumbing. I needed the walls closed up, a short wall built, and the appliances installed. First day, evaluate job and create estimate. Two days later start and complete the job in two additional days. On the day after the completion, the tenant reported a problem with a door that had been installed. I went over and checked and she was correct. It was in mid-afternoon and I called RROD and reported the problem. They immediately scheduled an appointment for 8:00 AM the next morning (and repaired it on that visit). It was a small job with a small problem. The work looked very professional and the paint for the new areas matched the existing room colors. The point is, they do high quality work and they really do stand behind their work. I shall certainly use them again. I am very satisfied with their responsiveness and the high quality of work. They are easy people to work with. They came through for me. Dan"

"From the start Coastal Contracting gave us a very fair and thorough quote with no surprises which wasn't the case with the other bidders. They got back to us right away and always provided realistic timelines. All of the workmen that were part of the bedroom and bathroom remodel were on time every day, they kept the area clean and their workmanship was excellent. We had one or two service items to address and they were addressed immediately. Great experience."

Small jobs welcome

"Jake Hill Construction is an outstanding company. They take care of all of the details and keep the client well-apprised of the project status. Jake and Ben are easy to work, really know their trade, and produce a high quality project. The final project, a complete deck rebuild, was top-notch and a great value for the cost. I have received numerous complements on the finished product. I have worked with many contractors over the years and Jake Hill Construction was the best by far."

Unfinished Carpentry questions, answered by experts

You can choose 5/8-inch plywood or 3/4-inch plywood—anything thinner than these sizes may not withstand the impact of debris propelled by strong winds or can be easily torn off by intruders. Remember that the durability of the wood board is crucial, particularly for safeguarding your windows during severe storms. The effectiveness of using wood boards for protecting the investment you made in your home relies on using the appropriate material and ensuring proper installation.

Balcony construction or replacement typically requires a building permit from your local permitting authority. Safety and building integrity are the main reasons for the need to obtain a permit and the subsequent inspections. In some cases, especially cantilevered balconies, your municipality may also require the oversight and signature of a structural engineer.

You can enclose an open carport, however, there are several things to consider before opting to do so. You'll want to check local building codes and permit requirements before proceeding to make sure it’s legal. While you can sometimes stick-frame a carport enclosure, pre-fab kits are also available. Remember that you'll likely need to meet concrete slab regulations and provide lighting inside the structure. Both of which could substantially drive up costs.

Installing an ornamental or decorative porch column takes around three to five hours. Structural columns take longer because your pro has to install a jack to hold up the roof while switching the column out. If there's any structural damage, it can add several days to the timeline to repair the damage.

The average cost of DIY window framing is about $40 to $60 in materials. If you hire a window treatment professional, you’ll pay for materials plus labor costs—anywhere from $250 to $800 per window. The final cost is highly dependent on the window size, as larger windows are heavier and more difficult to install, as well as the type of window framing material.
