Small jobs welcome

"They came and in in 11 hours cut down 4 palm trees and cleaned the area flawlessly. No other quote from other services even came close and I will have them back for more work. I have had 14 trees removed from our property and this company is the only company I would recommend."

"Rodriguez Tree Services exceeded my expectations. The staff was kind, friendly, and super helpful. They took care of my trees, yard, and they cleaned and removed all the debris. My yard looks a 1000% percent better. I will reach out to them again when my trees need a bit of TLC. I have already recommended them to my neighbors. -Steven"

"Luis and his crew did a super nice job on my trees. New Green Earth Tree Care is my choice for the best tree service. My project included tree and shrub trimming on a very large bank, plus some shrub removal. My trees have never looked better. I was very pleased with the whole project from consultation to clean up."

"Our front landscape was in desperate need of makeover landscaping. C&H Gardens has trimmed and removed many very large trees for me, over the last 6 years. It was an easy decision to choose Kent and C&H to do our landscaping project. Design was agreed upon and work began in mid-May 2020 and completed as designed in 3 weeks, on time and at cost projection. The professional work crew and design elements that added great visual quality to the street view was more than we expected. Our family and friends agree the work and view was fantastic. We will have an easy choice on our next project for the back yard...C&H is our contractor. Thanks Kent Horner, job well done."

"Pedro did a wonderful job .He came out gave me a bid set me up and came out on time and went to work. He alerted me that one tree needed to be trimmed before the others and I’m glad he did. They took care of all 3 trees and left the area looking great. Pedro was very on top of everything and his crew did an awesome job."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Make sure the tree roots soak around a day before you dig the tree up for the transplant. Keep the roots wet while the tree is above ground. After the transplant is finished, provide consistent water every day for the first month or so. You don’t want to overwater the tree, but you do want to keep the roots wet so they can thrive in their new environment.

You can use herbicides to prevent roots from growing without killing the tree itself, however they must be used with caution. Systemic herbicides are absorbed by the root and can kill off problematic roots. However, herbicides can sometimes negatively impact nearby plants, so the solution is best used sparingly.

The best tools for tree removal include a chainsaw for large trees, an ax for notching and cutting down small trees, and a wedge to help control the direction a tree falls in. A hatchet can be useful for very small trees, but won’t be effective for medium to large trees.

If it’s your property, then you can plant a tree near power lines, but it’s not the best idea. Any vegetation that grows within 10 feet or so of power lines will fall under the responsibility of the utility company, and they may trim or remove it as necessary. If you do move forward with your plan, try to choose a smaller ornamental tree, plant it as far away from the power lines as you can, and keep it trimmed to avoid future problems.

If executed correctly your tree should survive after being transplanted to a new spot. However, effective transplanting requires six months, careful root pruning, safe transport to the new location, and replanting in prime soil conditions. You’ll also need an appropriately sized root ball for a complete tree transplant. A good rule of thumb is that, for every inch in diameter, your tree’s root ball needs to be around 11 inches. So a tree with a diameter of six inches needs a root ball of approximately 66 inches.
