"Worked with Tim - was looking for new HVAC system. He was honest and provided the best price for what you got (literally thousands of dollars cheaper from other options I was finding). Was very communicative and easy to work with. He made sure to educate you on the ins-and-outs of HVAC systems, and did not try to upsell you like other companies might do. He and Efficiency Air definitely got me as a new continued client."

"We chose to go with Premier for our new home HVAC system because of Jonathanâ s professionalism and great price. We felt like Jonathan treated us like family. He was honest and upfront about the challenges he would face putting our new system in so we were never surprised or felt like we were getting ripped off. We really appreciate how the Premier team was respectful of our home , nice to our dogs and finished in the time frame agreed upon. Our system works wonderfully , we highly recommend Premier for any of your HVAC projects!!!"

"These folks were AWESOME! We moved into our house a year ago, with a list of things to do , cleaning the air ducts was lower on our list, but when the furnace failed it was suggested that we have the ducts cleaned. Air Flow Pros are not folks who come in with a shop vac and are done in 30 mins. These guys have super professional equipment!!! We are talking about a vac system that will suck out anything in your ducts! This cleaning help keep the life of your furnace . I would recommend them to every realtor to have this service done as part of buying a home! The air flow is so much greater now that we have had this service. So worth the money!"

"I talked to Michael and honesty was up front and that was important to me. The work got done in a timely manner and I now have heat in my home all thanks to Michael and his partner. I would like to add that they replace my furnace within 2 days and I appreciate them and would recommend them, which I already have"

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

There are several common types of HVAC systems that you may have, including split systems, hybrid HVAC, duct-free systems, packaged heating and air, geothermal heating, or even portable units for heating or cooling. If you aren’t sure which type is in your home or are looking to install something different, you should consult an HVAC pro to determine which option is right for your heating and cooling needs.

While personal preferences widely vary, sleep experts say the best temperature for sleeping is between 60 and 67 degrees Fahrenheit rather than 78. If you do choose to sleep with your AC unit tuned to 78 degrees, you might want to use only a sheet or light blanket rather than a comforter. You might also consider installing a window unit in your bedroom so that you can be cooler in bed without wasting energy cooling the whole house.

No, heat pump maintenance needs are very similar to air conditioners, including keeping outdoor units clean, changing filters regularly, and occasionally scheduling a refrigerant check to see if any has leaked out. Heat pumps typically switch automatically between heating and cooling, so you don’t need to worry about manually changing them every season. However, since they are always on call, they can develop wear and tear faster than an air conditioner.

Traditional central air conditioning systems require ductwork to circulate air throughout the home. Alternatively, you can add air conditioning with a mini-split ductless air conditioning system, which can be just as energy efficient as a central air conditioner. This type of system consists of two units–an outside unit that holds the compressor and condenser and an indoor unit that holds an air-handler. With multi-zone ductless systems, there are multiple indoor air handlers tied to a single outdoor compressor/condenser, allowing the system to cool multiple rooms.

During the summer, it’s best to set your AC to 78 degrees when you’re home and awake, according to the Department of Energy (DOE). For better energy efficiency, raise the temperature slightly to 85 degrees while you’re out of the house. The National Sleep Foundation advises lowering your thermostat to between 60 and 67 degrees when you’re asleep.
