He referred me to a website for the Air Duct Cleaners Association and read about what air duct cleaning really does. So I had Air Duct Professionals come out to the inspection and they have an actual HVAC guy on their staff. Immediately looking at how new and well maintained our air system was in the attic, he told us those other companies were trying to scam us. Air Duct Professionals did a great job cleaning out all of our air ducts and dryer vent and cleaning up after themselves. He contacted me right away, quoted me a very fair price and we set up an appointment within a few days. He did a very thorough job installing the thermostat, plus took the time to explain some of the basics to me about programming it, etc. He also put down a drop cloth to protect my floor, which I noted. Other contractors have just let debris fall onto the floor (and left it there for me to clean up). He also gave me some helpful advice about my ductwork and other things.
