The owner of Kerry Masonry came to my home on a Friday afternoon (~4:30pm) and provided a verbal estimate for the chimney tuck-pointing repair. We talked about when his crew could perform the work in the coming week and set a date. However, when he found out that I was going to replace a section of shingled roofing he offered to come the next morning (Saturday) and complete the work at no additional charge. His crew came earlier than promised, completed the work more professionally and promptly and even used some "extra mortar" to patch a couple of driveway cracks; at no additional charge. I would highly recommend Kerry Masonry based on my very positive experience. Thanks for your professional services at an affordable price

Jayson and his crew did an excellent job rebuilding the chimney on our 110 year old home. Because we have a tile roof and a steeply sloping yard, building the scaffolding and protecting the roof made the job particularly challenging. They did an excellent job dealing with these challenges and were reliable, careful and completed the work on schedule. They cleaned up after the work was done and made a special effort not to trample my wife's plants. I recommend them

Marvin came out when he said he would, and provided an estimate on the spot. He was very nice, and had many good suggestions. In addition to fixing the walk and patio, there were some small areas on the garage that required mortar repair. He agreed to fix it all. I received three quotes total from various contractors, and his price was the highest. I felt the most comfortable with his knowledge of what was required, and ultimately decided to use them anyway. Once we agreed upon what would be done, he gave me a date, and they showed up exactly as promised. Much of the work was done, however, they did not clean up, nor did they complete everything. Once I received the invoice, I inquired as to when the rest of the work would be completed. Within 2 weeks, they were out, completed the work, and did an excellent job of leaving the areas clean. Martin apologized that all of the work had not been completed originally, and was there to make sure it was all completed satisfactorily in the end. Two small areas that they had originally worked on were repaired, and all work was completed. Although everything did not go perfectly, he did a great job of making sure it was all done right once it was brought to his attention. He and the crew were friendly and respectful, and very hard workers. I have done enough home repairs to know that things don't always go as expected, but I could not have been happier with his response and commitment to make sure it was all right in the end

"Outstanding experience. I'd submitted a request for a quote to another Angie's List pro (who never got back to me). Got an email the next morning that Chimneys Plus was interested in providing me a quote. Submitted a request & hot a call from Chad maybe 20 minutes later. He explained that he was booked solid each weekday well in November, but offered to come out the following Saturday morning. Arrived right on time, inspected chimney from cap to bottom & cleaned a ton of creosote from the pipe. He also cleaned our woodstove beautifully, including the glass, at no additional charge even though we never asked him to. The price was excellent; quite a bit less than what it seems other area services charge. Chad was also extremely courteous and professional, and left everything immaculate. "We asked AH to bid for us on a basement remodel of our 90+ year old home. They were told our budget was $40k. They were told our top priority was to have the space match the rest of our house. They took us to prior jobs that were nothing like our home or our desired remodel. They made us pay $2000 for a design, which we were told we would "own" before they would bid for us. The bid came in at $90k, double our budget, which was terribly offensive. When we asked to bid the design (which we liked) to other contractors, we were told that we could not have a design with measurements on it unless we built with them (making the plan essentially useless). To get the bid down to $40k, we had to use the cheapest finishes out there (think the sale bin at Menards). Their final budget included a lot of nebulous "time and management" charges, which could balloon way up.
<br /> When we got our basement bidded out to other contractors, the estimates came in at $58k and $62k, with top end finishes that matched the rest of our house.
<br /> So: Tippy top price, not great service, not listening to the customer, trying to suck every dollar out of you they can.
