"Boulders Concrete Construction did an amazing job. They were on budget and finished the project when they said they would!! The end results were even better than we were expecting. They cleaned up everyday, and left the entire area spotless when the job was done. Ted answered all of our questions, wrote up several different quotes we asked for, and gave great professional advice to help us land on our final design. We will 100% be using this company again in the future, they did great work, had a friendly and fast crew, and they were super nice to our 2 year old boys who were just fascinated with the construction. We couldn’t be happier!!!"

"We were satisfied with the outcome of our retaining wall project. It took a little longer than we initially anticipated, but in the end, the final quality of the work was worth it. They installed two block walls, replaced and updated our downspout drainage system, and fixed the fence gate that sits behind one of the walls. They were friendly throughout."

"Kurt was fantastic. Our entire building was suffering with no hot water on a cold winters day. I found Kurt recommended by the maker of our water heaters. I called a bit frantic, recieved a return call within minutes, got great advice, honest folks helped us get things back up and running when most would have let us wait and possibly charged us for something we could do ourselves. We are so glad to find a trustworthy service group, and wouldn't go anywhere else unless they refer us. You simply don't find this type of honest often, I'm proud of them and quite grateful."

"They were on time, they were friendly and explained what they were doing and the job was difficult and challenging and they returned to get it done. It was a 2 day project that turned into 3 and they even came to work on it on a Saturday."

Masonry questions, answered by experts

Brick houses can last at least 100 years with minimal maintenance. With regular care and attention, including mortar repointing, brick houses can last 500 years or more.

Brick is the closest choice when seeking to capture the timeless look of stone with a more practical and budget-friendly option. When comparing stone versus brick siding, the price range of $200,000 to $400,000 for average brick home construction is dramatically lower compared to the cost of building a stone home. If you'd like to keep the stone aesthetic without the cost, stone veneer and manufactured stone are both less expensive than real stone.

If you want to make your home eco-friendly, enjoy low maintenance, and love the fact that its looks will take people’s breath away (and not because they were trying to blow your house down), then a modern brick home is right for you. You can hire a mason to get the building process started for your brick home.

But if you’re not fond of the color and don’t want to deal with the process of repointing or other repairs, consider going with vinyl or wood. These materials offer a lower cost. While they tend to require more maintenance, they don’t cost nearly the same as exterior brick house repair.

The cost to install or replace brick or stone siding generally ranges from $10 to $50 per square foot. The final price depends on several factors, including the specific material type, local labor rates, and any necessary preparation work, such as removing old siding. For example, different types of stone have varying costs per square foot: natural stone ($4.50–$35), stone veneer ($11–$13), faux stone ($6–$9), and cultured or manufactured stone ($5–$8).

If your old bricks are in decent condition and you have the space to store them where they’ll be protected from the elements, keeping old bricks is often worthwhile. You’d spend anywhere from $70 to a few hundred dollars to have them removed from your property, in which case you won’t be able to use them for future projects. Holding on to old bricks in good condition means you can use them later for other DIY projects, potentially saving yourself some money on disposal and new materials down the road.
