Kalish Masonry, LLC.

After living in my house for three years, I discovered there had been ongoing water damage taking place on the front of my house.  Unfortunately the only way to know the extent of the damage to the frame of my house was to tear off all the exterior stone.  The stone would be so damaged that it would be impossible to repair, so it meant replacing all my existing stone. I received quotes from three companies and Kalish was the highest, by 25%.  My insurance company (who denied my claim) recommended Kalish, as did others in the community.  The professionalism and responsiveness from both Addison Kalish and his office manager, Anna, was worth the extra money.  The job took seven days total.  The men on the crew site were the best I had ever experienced.  They were quiet, respectful, clean and professional.  Even though they were climbing on my roof and standing right outside my front windows all day, they did not seem invasive.  The job site was cleaned up every day before they left.  They started at 7am each day and stopped around 3 or 3:30.  Addison checked in with me frequently throughout the project and even provided a follow-up phone call one month after project completion.  Although this was money I hated to spend, I have no regrets about choosing Kalish Masonry.  I would recommend them to anyone.

Anna answered the phone right away, sounding very friendly and professional. When I told her what my project entailed (fireplace tiling), she said that was not a project that they do, but instead of ending the call at that point, she offered to stay on the line and help brainstorm other options. I was impressed by her helpfulness, and she gave me a great idea for resources beyond Angie's List for tiling services. This is an example of a company going above and beyond, even when it is no apparent gain to them.
With this professionalism and attitude, I know I will turn to Kalish for my future masonry projects, and would certainly recommend them.

Kalish was great to work with from scheduling and their confirming appointments, to the guys who came out to do the work. They were all very good at explaining the situations (they helped us with a couple things) and options for the future. They are excellent and knowledgeable masons. I only marked down on the price because of course, I'd hoped it wouldn't cost so much. But their patches and work look great and have done an excellent job with the heavy rains we've had!

Addison Kalish and his crew were timely and friendly, and his office person Anna was also professional. My only concern was the condition of the driveway after they left, which has a number of marks/footprints and a "brick powder" coloring on it which after scrubbing seems unable to be removed. I am hoping this goes away over time. The chimney looks great and overall I have no complaints. UPDATE: the company sent some guys out to scrub the driveway, wanting to ensure everything was left as it was when they started. It kind of worked, the marks were removed but new scrub marks were left on the asphalt which ultimately won't show when I reseal it.

Kalish was very easy to work with, grasped the problem immediately and suggested a slight extension of the scope. We got the clearly written quote quickly. The work was all done on time, very fast and professional. The bill was exactly as quoted.

The estimator was prompt and thorough. The work was scheduled within a week and done as scheduled. I was not home when the workers were present, the work was complete by the time I got home from work. Everything was fine except there was some debris (crumbled concrete/masonry) left scattered around the work area (the driveway), when they received this feedback they offered to come out and clean it up but I declined.

It was excellent. It was a dynamite good price. They were on time. Everything went perfect. There were no problems. I called to tell them I was ready and two days later it was done. They typically did large jobs but they took the same pride on this small job.

We were very pleased with our experience with Kalish Masonry. The work was completed within 3 weeks of our 1st contact. Everything proceeded as expected or better. The work was of high quality, the price was reasonable, the workers were friendly, and the job site was always clean (my wife was relieved that her gardens were unaffected by the work). Addison Kalish (the owner) came each day to check on the progress of the work. He seems to be honest and trustworthy. The work actually came in under the estimate, since fewer materials were used than anticipated.
