I actually wish I had known about Macadam earlier, because their selection is quite good. I think they have something for every budget, but we went with a much higher quality flooring and the price was really good compared to the lesser quality stuff we originally ordered from a big box store. Macadam is now my first place to look for flooring. The service was awesome and the ability to get something last minute really helped out by making a very stressful situation much more manageable. Rick called us back when he said he would and worked with us to get what we needed. When we were interviewing moving companies and getting estimates, Dave gave us good info not only about our specific move but also about the industry in general, and a number of these tips helped us better compare the various companies and their services. Although my husband and I had both moved many times, we are convinced that nobody does it often enough to be as aware of industry practices and potential problem areas as someone on the inside, and so this was invaluable help. Our moving process was a complicated one involving two stages over a period of months, having the pickup done without our being on site, and the movers having to deal with boxes and bins we'd packed ourselves. At every stage, we were able to easily communicate with the Roadrunner people to get answers to questions and make arrangements. They were very responsive, good-humored, and flexible, and they seemed to do their best to accommodate our schedule and circumstances. We did have a bit of breakage, not a lot (though not of anything we'd packed ourselves), but of loose pieces such as a standing mirror, a flagpole, and a couple of other items that probably didn't have enough padding or securing and so shifted during the long drive. There was a $420 charge for materials that we didn't think to ask about immediately, no doubt for the three quilted moving blankets, a number of heavy wardrobe boxes, and perhaps the packing the movers did before loading, and we felt this was probably reasonable charge. We had to wait a week longer than we'd hoped for delivery due to conflicts with their schedule, but this was manageable for us. And the unloaders didn't stack our many boxes, bins, and loose goods on the pallets we asked them to use, instead putting them directly on the concrete shop floor, but since I wasn't standing by supervising, we think that that miscommunication should be chalked up to the fact that, inevitably, a few such things do happen during every move, regardless of the care and experience of everyone involved. By and large ours went very well. We feel confident of Roadrunner's competence and integrity, and in a business like this one, that is critical. They are a small company that has competed successfully in a business where hidden charges and other unethical practices are rampant, and have shown that treating people fairly and doing honest work can still be a successful business strategy. As a result, we feel comfortable recommending them highly and wouldn't hesitate to work with them should we move again. A couple of days after the floor was installed, a significant crack developed across the entire width of the floor. Anthony saw this when he returned to seal the floor the next day. At that time he stated that cracking was something that could happen to a concrete floor and that he should have mentioned that to us before starting the job. Anthony stated he would redo the floor, but it was agreed that we would first see if we could repair the crack on our own. We waited 1 month before attempting repairs to be sure that the deck mud (concrete) used for the floor was completely cured. None of the several approaches and repair products we used to fix the crack produced an acceptable result. Consequently we decided that we would need to have the shower floor covered with tile. We contacted Anthony in mid-October to tell him of this decision and told him that we would be willing to supply the tile if he would provide the labor and grout for the repair.
When we didn't hear back from Anthony, we sent him a text message on 11/2 asking when he would be able to schedule the work. He replied: "I sent email to you for labor cost and date I'll check on that". When Anthony did not get back to us, we sent him 2 additional text messages (on 11/5 and 11/7) asking for his availability to complete the work. Because we were not getting a response, on 11/8 we contacted Anthony's helper for the original concrete floor install. He said that Anthony told him that he had sent us a bid for the job. When we told him we had not received a bid, he distanced himself from Anthony, stating that he was just there helping Anthony and that his business was separate from Anthony's. On 11/14 we received the following text message from Anthony: "I'm trying to find someone to come set and grout your tile not having any luck I'm not gonna be able to till mid to end of march". Waiting another 4 months to have a working shower was not acceptable to us, so we hired a local person to lay and grout the tile we purchased. On Jan 11, 2014, we emailed Anthony requesting a refund of the additional cost to us ($466.95) to install tile over the cracked shower floor. Our email included the invoice for this work. Our requested refund did not include the cost of the tile that we had to buy. On 1/12, Anthony stated in an email" "Got your email not sure about refund I was gonna charge $500 to set tile so looks like you save a little bit money." Maybe he was trying to be humorous, but having to spend an additional $900.00 (labor + tile) to fix his defective shower floor was not humorous to us. On 1/16 and again on 2/13, we emailed Anthony saying that we believe our requested refund was appropriate because the almost %6, 000 we paid him did not result in a working shower. There has been no further response from Anthony.

Although they were at our home for 7 hours, over half of that time was upstairs with bdrms and baths. 3 of the 4 bedrooms are never used and have only been used for occasional guests (house new when we moved in) so should have involved minimal cleaning. By the time they got to the finished basement, they spent very little time. Here is what I found the following weekend when I did my own cleaning: Wood baseboards on main floor had been cleaned. Fingerprints on doors not cleaned. Wood finished window casings dusted but not polished. Not all furniture had been dusted. Back hallway not cleaned. The crew would not honor my Angie's List coupon even though I printed it out and it was my first cleaning. I am now sorry I tipped them. I frankly do not know how they have had good ratings if this was their usual service. I won't use them again. First. They were asked to do one thing only. They were asked to remove the vinyl floor covering so that my handyman could inspect the flooring underneath. Yet they went way beyond that and then asked my handyman to sign a document giving them permission to do what they had not been asked to...

FAQs for floor sanding projects in White Salmon, WA
The cost to refinish hardwood floors is $1,900 on average, ranging from $600 to $4,500, depending on the area size, the floor’s condition, the type of wood, the type of coating, and the refinishing method. Traditional refinishing includes sanding the floors, which can be very dusty and costs about $3 to $8 per square foot. Dustless refinishing uses a vacuum to collect dust during the sanding process, reducing the amount of dust produced, and costs about $5 to $8 per square foot.
You should aim to hire a professional floor cleaner once or twice per year to remove any set-in stains, resolve scratches, and make your floors look shiny and new again. If you have a bustling household with many children, pets, or severe allergies, having your floors cleaned four times per year is worth the investment to maintain the integrity of your flooring. Don’t forget to prioritize cleaning your floors yourself in between professional cleanings, too.
The cost to install hardwood flooring is about $4,800 on average, ranging from about $1,000 to $12,000. Nationally, the average cost to install hardwood floors ranges from $6 to $12 per square foot for labor and materials. High-end woods and large spaces may cost $13 to $25 per square foot.
Additional cost factors include:
Square footage of the area
Type of wood
Preparation requirements
Type of finish
Location
Floor style and pattern
Plank thickness
Wood grade, color, and grain
It’s time to refinish your hardwood floors when they show signs of age that diminish their overall appearance and function. A few surefire signals that you should consider refinishing your hardwood floors include:
Gouges, scrapes, deep scratches, and dents over a significant area
Discoloration from stains or sun exposure
Water damage causing rotting, warping, or bowing
Weak, spongy, or soft spots in the floor indicating damaged subflooring
Dull and worn appearance across most of the floor
The cost for professional floor cleaning is $250 on average. This cost can range from $100 to $1,500, depending on the type of flooring and its square footage.
For example, natural stone flooring requires specialized techniques and care, so you'll spend closer to the higher end of the cost range. The cost of cleaning tile and grout is more cost-effective, where you'll pay an average of $0.50 to $3.50per square foot.
