Then came Ekraam - the master technician from Powers. He was kind enough to make the drive from up north to West Seattle on a Saturday when the bridge was still out! One look at my house and he said that any repair to the brick would be worthless in a couple of years. Better to remove it and replace it or put on siding instead. As for the chimney, he asked why I needed it since the house had no fireplace. Briefly stated, he could have sold me a job but instead he informed and counselled me on how to solve it. I ran out of time for repairs so the lovely and amazingly organized Connie - my contact at powers - arranged for Ekraam to remove the chimney on very short notice.
